I see it as, a couple has an enchanting evening, they're in a world of their own, they're in love, and they are about to have sex for the first time. I interpreted it from a guy's perspective. "Plump hears a-thumping, begging you to come to me" and "I couldn't be more ready." He wants her so bad, and he's ready.
