The Fun Powder Plot Lyrics

When we turn up in our turn up’s,
our hearts are heavy,
our heads are ready to levy.

For the yippee-less swing,
for the tot-less cot,
for the mock,
for the shock,
for the fun powder plot.

With courage and conviction,
in donkey-jaw diction,
we cry for the cause because the courts have left us lonely;
disowned us daddies like the poopers of the party.

Gently, gently take them from me…
gently, gently take them from me…
gently, gently take them from me,
and I’ll be left dumfound as a donkey.

This is a booty call; my boot up your arse hole.
This is a Freudian slip; my slipper in your bits.

This song is about Fathers 4 Justice, an organization of political activists focused on equal parenting and father's rights. The "Fun Powder Plot" was a nickname given to the House of Commons protest where two of its members threw condoms filled with purple flour at Tony Blair. The video of the incident is worth watching. It's pretty impressive that the guy nailed him from so far away.

misunderstanding were the poopers of the party. i think anyway. as in; the people who said afterward that it wasnt funny / was wrong / whatever were party poopers and misunderstood the joke.

The liner notes say all songs written by Wild Beasts - no reference to Jorge Abner Drexler. The lyrics are correct.

Sorry to rain on the comments of the first poster about ´Fathers 4 Justice´. Nice idea, but the song is actually about gay sex.

This is a booty call; my boot up your arse hole. This is a Freudian slip; my slipper in your bits.

Takes on a whole new meaning right?

It is about Fathers 4 Justice - a kick up the arse isn't gay sex unless by some weird technicality. Doesn't refer to a literal kick anyway, more likely means to striking a blow for the cause by invading Parliament.
