Little Boxes (Malvina Reynolds cover) Lyrics
Little boxes on the hillside
Little boxes made of ticky-tacky
Little boxes on the hillside
Little boxes, all the same
There's a pink and a green one
And a blue one and a yellow one
And they're all made out of ticky-tacky
And they all look just the same
And the people in the houses
All went to the university
And they were put in boxes
And the came out all the same
And there's doctors and there's lawyers
And business executives
And they're all made out of ticky-tacky
And they all look just the same
Little boxes made of ticky-tacky
Little boxes on the hillside
Little boxes, all the same
And a blue one and a yellow one
And they're all made out of ticky-tacky
And they all look just the same
All went to the university
And they were put in boxes
And the came out all the same
And there's doctors and there's lawyers
And business executives
And they're all made out of ticky-tacky
And they all look just the same

That's funny that there's no comments on this one. I listen to it all time. I like it. It's like 49 seconds long, but it's catchy. The meaning is pretty self-explanatory; life is repetative, live is meaningless. We are all the same. But that's the goal isn't it?
Wow, I didn't even know they covered this.
The original song was written in the "Levittown" era, when mass-produced housing started popping up on every hillside. The song was basically mocking/complaining about that.
