Osaka Loop Line Lyrics
In Osaka I saw you last
Your face pressed up against the glass
Across the tracks you're looking at
As bullets pass behind your back
And I tried to catch your eye and then
Walk past ya as the train came in
But I missed ya there and lost my mind
The morning crowd pushed me behind
Now I see that you fell asleep again
You've been riding this train since 2 AM
Like the circle of fifths you drew in school
The loop line takes you round and through
Did I catch you there on a bicycle
Ten steps away from Osaka-jyou
Spoke to you there in Umshima
On that last train I felt the sky
Now I see that you fell asleep again
You've been riding this train since 2AM
Like the circle of fifths you drew in school
The loop line takes you round and through
In Osaka I saw you last
Your face pressed up against the glass
Across the track you're looking at
As bullets pass behind your back
And I tried to catch your eye and then
Walk past you as the train came in
But I missed you there and lost my mind
The morning crowd pushed me behind

The line isn't "the pulling car pushed me back", it's "the morning crowd pushed me behind". Listen to the song with that in mind and you'll see what I mean.
yum.
I Think the lines are:
And I tried to catch your eye and then Walk past ya as the train came in But I missed ya there and lost my mind The pulling car pushed me back
and
Did I catch you there on a bicycle Ten steps away from Osaka Joe -- this probably isn't Osaka Joe, probably a Japanese place (restaurant and so forth. sounds like Osakasho to me not Osaka-Joe) Spoke to you there in ??? -- Sounds like Umshima - not familiar with Osaka but I would imagine this is either a town or station in or around osaka On that last train I felt the sky -- This sounds correct
yeah, Ten Steps away from Osakajo -- Osakajo is a park in Osaka, right next to osakajokoen station. Still missing what the next line is saying though...

Oh, you're good. My not being familiar with Osaka probably caused that misunderstanding. I'll change 'em

No sire, you're good. I heard you stayed up late and wrote out the lyrics in a note book. You're such a cheeky fuck.

KOLIN!?!?!?!
KOLIN!?!?!?!
Osaka-jo is Osaka castle. The next line says "spoke to me, barely moved your mouth / midnight last train to my father's house".

Soooo gut. Love this song so much, and it actually got me a point when I was taking a random Japanese quiz. It asked what the second biggest city was and I said Osaka, just guessing from the song. Turns out to be right!
In Osaka I saw you last Your face pressed up against the glass Across the track you're looking at As bullets pass behind your back
-He last saw the person he's speaking of when they were sitting on a train as it was leaving while staring across the tracks. the "bullets" aren't literal bullets, they are the bullet trains, or "shinkansen" that are passing on the nearby tracks.
And I tried to catch your eye and then Walked past you as the train came in But I missed you there and lost my mind The morning crowd pushed me back
-He was looking for this person as the trains came in, but missed them, and when he finally did find the person, the crowd was too much for him to get through so he couldn't reach the train in time.
and now I see that you fell asleep again You've been riding this train since 2 AM Like the circle of fifths you drew in school The loop line takes you round and through
Did I catch you there on a bicycle Ten steps away from Osaka Jyou Spoke to me, barely moved your mouth On that last train I felt the sky
-They're remembering a time they saw this person near Osaka Castle (Osaka Jyou)
When he sings the line "your face pressed up against the glass" it sounds all dreamy and pretty, but when you think about it, it's quite unpleasant. ha.
I always thought when he sang "Now I see that you fell asleep again" he was actually saying "now i see where your fantasy began" both interpretations are pretty cool imo :D
Everyone who is alive should hear this song. I absolutely love it. The music is phenomenal. Reminds me of tunnels and rainbows. So trippy.. :P Also i love when they mix up the beat haha
This song makes me hate the circle of fifths a little less
