Love of an Orchestra Lyrics
(Choir)
If you gotta run, run from hope
I know I'll never be lonely
I've got songs in my blood
I'm carrying all the love of an orchestra
gimme the love of an orchestra (x3)
So now in my deepest sorrow
there's no need for despair
I'm carrying all the love of an orchestra
gimme the love of an orchestra (x3)
(Choir)
If you gotta run, run from hope
If you gotta run, run from hope
I've got songs in my blood
I'm carrying all the love of an orchestra
gimme the love of an orchestra (x3)
there's no need for despair
I'm carrying all the love of an orchestra
gimme the love of an orchestra (x3)
If you gotta run, run from hope

I think the optimism conveyed by the music is supposed to be ironic or at least counter the lyrics. I think the lyrics are supposed to be empowering. Don't stick around and wait for someone or something if they're not reciprocating the feelings. Having hope in that situation is only going to delay what should be your ultimate acceptance and ability to move on and be happy with yourself. If you can't handle yourself in the given situation and move on, then you've gotta run and you've gotta run from that hope that's holding you by a string.
Pretty much the only upbeat song on the new album, I'm really feeling it though. Not too deep lyrically, but the message is one that many can surely relate to; No matter how lonely you are, you always have music to comfort you.
I love this song! I think mostly it talks about how music can be such a huge comfort. And I agree with the running from hope, NATW's views on love are the same as mine.
For some reason, this song always reminds me of a Wes Anderson film.
