'first days of spring' it's one of the best albums i 've ever heard. Especially this song with its great lyrics. I love the violin, it's my best part. ..impenetrable to pain.. nice work.
I love this album. The songs (especially this one) are all heartbreakingly beautiful.
This one is pretty easy, I think it's about a guy who saw love pass him by and didn't grab it. Now he's so badly heartbroken that he doesn't think it could get any worse.
As with most Noah and the Whale lyrics, it's simple but really well put. The violin part is really fantastic too.
such a beautiful song, the whole album is beautiful, and one thing i love is how simple these songs are, like they are intricate and all but the whole message isnt all look at me im sad, its simple, and somewhat haunting, and beautiful, and heartbreaking. and SO emotional. but i love how its stating ill be lonely again, like he knows this feeling is part of life. but it also goes to say ill be laughing again, so that its hopeful aswell, and realistic about everything. the hopeful part makes it all the more heartbreaking, its just so sweet.
This song is about the songwriter Laura Marling. He wrote it after their break up and broke down when he first heard it.
