Low Rising Lyrics

I want to sit you down and talk
I want to pull back the veils
And find out what it is I’ve done wrong
I want to tear these curtains down
I want you to meet me somewhere tonight in this old
tourist town

And we’ll go low rising
Cause we’ve gotta come up, we’ve gotta come up
Low rising
Cause there’s no further for us to fall
Low rising
Cause I feel we’ve had enough
And we’re, Low rising
All for the love of you

I want to take you to the rock
I want to jump right in and see what that big oceans got
I want to turn this thing around
I want to drink with you all night until we both fall down

‘Til we go low rising
Cause we’ve gotta come up we’ve gotta come up
Low rising
Cause there’s no further for us to fall
Low rising
‘Til I feel we’ve had enough
And we’re Low rising

All for the love of you

Low rising..

Low rising
Cause we’ve gotta come up we’ve gotta come up
Low rising
‘Til I feel we’ve had enough
And we’re Low rising
Cause there’s no further for us to fall
And we’re Low rising

All for the love of you
For the love of you
Low rising, low rising

I wanna sit you down and talk
I wanna sit you down and talk about it now

I think this is an absolutely great song, apparently it's about wanting to sit your girlfriend down and having a talk, but knowing that everything is going to be okay.

all for the love of you

It's amazing how a song about hitting rock bottom in a relationship can sound so beautiful.

My thoughts on this are similar to what others have said but it goes a little deeper. Why are two people in a relationship and not communicating? There are so many factors in why someone would choose not to communicate, everything from fear to insecurities.

Communication is KEY in a relationship, and unless you are truly in touch with yourself, you may not be able to sit down and talk about everything and anything. Partners who are maybe more in touch with who they are can see you holding back, but know that there may be nothing they can do to help you talk about how you feel if you are not ready.

If one party would do anything to talk, and the other is unable to communicate properly, you find yourself stuck, where this couple is in this song. Knowing something is not right, but unable to communicate it in a way that will help bring their relationship to that next level.

Great song. Watch the video!

I personally am of a different opinion about this song. I don’t feel that the relationship is at rock bottom at all, I feel that this couple in the song has collectively faced some kind of tragic unforeseen circumstance and have been brow beaten by life, and the tone of the song is quite different than the lyrics might suggest if they were read absent the cords. I feel that there’s an overwhelming sense of “F it, life may suck at the moment for us both honey, but we’re about to make a serious comeback!” And you can sense that this man is going to make sure this sinking ship is fully righted. Their relationship is strong, they’re just victims of life. Of hardship and adversity. But they’re on their way back.

I am amazed by this song, it definitely has a "Into the Mystic" kinda feel (also one of my favorites.) To me, this song expresses the fact that this relationship isn't necessarily at rock bottom, but according to the singer it can only go up, and he's going to make sure it does, if only for "the love of you."

Also, now that I think of it, perhaps the singer has just realized how in love with her he is. And now that he realizes he's been a jerk, he can't believe she's still there. And he wants to turn it all around and start to work on this relationship.

I think it's about a tough relationship, a relationship that's falling apart, it's about a relationship that you so want to work ( We've gotta come up ) but it doesn't seems to work ( 'Cause I fear we've had enough ). so you want to sit down and talk ( I wanna sit you down and talk ), to see what you've done wrong ( And find out what it is I've done wrong ) and to see if you can work it out. Cause even if not, it's a lot easier to just cut the ropes and let yourself fall and just not see you both suffer in a relationship that can't work even though you both really want each other.

For the love of you We've gotta come up 'Cause there's no further for us to fall and I fear we've had enough We've gotta come up For the love of you
