Every Time You Turn Around Lyrics
I've been me, I've been following my dreams
Trying to find the scene where you believed me
I've been true, I've been waiting here for you
I've been patient, understanding, and believing
(Every time you turn around)
I know you're standing there
Waiting for me to take it on back down the other road, baby
But I won't let you down
I know you're standing there
Waiting for me to take it on back down the other road, baby
But I won't let you down
Every time you turn around
I've been good, I've been doing what I should
Working hard to make a world that we can live in
I've been strong, I've been holding out so long
And don't you forget that you're forgiven
I know you're standing there
Waiting for me to take it on back down the other road, baby
But I won't let you down
I know you're standing there
Waiting for me to take it on back down the other road, baby
But I won't let you down
Every time you turn around
All the reasons you believe what you believe
Never seeing that the truth is part of me
When all I want to do is show you what it really means to love
What it really means to love
I know you're standing there
Waiting for me to take it on back down the other road, baby
But I won't let you down
I know you're standing there
Waiting for me to take it on back down the other road, baby
But I won't let you down

Seems to be about a couple where one of them is very insecure and keeps waiting for him to leave her. But he keeps telling her that he will never let her down like she thinks he will.
I think this song is about somebody, I am guessing the singer is singing to a girl that he once admired and somewhat stiill does but he kind of moved on and is telling this girl that he been doing what he said he was going to go out and accomplish because maybe she told him that she diddent believe he could do it or something. He obviously is trying to rub it in her face but is kind of letting her back in or telling her she is welcome to join him still in his life even thought she doubted him. She is kind of under the impression that he is still bound to fail and he hasen't yet which is where the whole other road part of the song comes in.
this song speaks to me because it accurately explains a relationship I have with a girl I love. We have a long history together, and we've been there for each other often.
My dream is for us to be together, and I'm just waiting for her to see things the same way I do. We've danced around it for years, but nothing has come of it, and it's frustrating because I know she loves me, just not in the same way I love her.
I think this song is the most underrated on the album, its short on lyrics but long on "catchy." I think its about a relationship where the singer (a guy obviously) is trying to be this dependable guy and get the girl to trust him but she for whatever reason doesn't trust him.

The "take it on back down the other road" lyric to me is confusing. I think it might mean drugs, as in he used to do drugs but no longer does and she still doesn't trust him not to go back. Or it could mean...

Or it could mean that he used to be with some other girl or cheated on her once and she doesn't trust him to stay w/ her.
However, she is not completely innocent in this relationship because he says for her "don't you forget that you're forgiven." So maybe she cheated too? I don't know but the point is that she feels insecure about the relationship and he's trying to get her to feel secure about it.
I think this song is about a guy who made a mistake a long time ago and has been making up for it, doing everything he should and has been forgiven but the girl he's with still seems to expect that he'll do it again and won't believe that he won't do it again.
