Ms Bell's Song Lyrics
What makes you happy?
All the time
Makes you wonder
If it's right
What gives you strength?
All the time
What wears you out?
Anytime
Holds your hand?
And at night
What gives you strength?
All the time
To cry doesn't make it any easier
To laugh doesn't always feel right
It's time
Time makes it all harder
Oh when will I
All the time
Makes you wonder
If it's right
What gives you strength?
All the time
Anytime
Holds your hand?
And at night
What gives you strength?
All the time
To laugh doesn't always feel right
It's time
Time makes it all harder
Oh when will I

Opinion? Brilliant song. So very sad.
Interpretation? At first it seems that it's about a person feeling jealousy or envy toward another. But as I've looked into the lyrics more so, I've found it to be more about a person that has become so distant, isolated and cold - stoic, if you will - and hurting his/her partner or close friend.
She asks how her partner can be, seemingly, so strong and so happy "all the time". But then she asks "[what] holds [his] hand and at night?", perhaps she is speculating that he isn't as strong as he might seem. Whilst she is going through an extremely distressful time, her partner simply does not empathize with her. She cries, but it doesn't help, she laughs but it doesn't help, he remains as cold and distant as ever, whilst she has an emotional breakdown.
Just my interpretation.
BTW: The song is partially ruined by being joined with "The Radio Wars Theme". I think the Howling Bells should've separated the two. Ms Bell's Song is the only track on the album that really stands out for me. Their debut was much better in my opinion, but this is still an absolutely brilliant song.
