Heart Lyrics
Never wanted to feel
Never wanted you to steal my heart
Never wanted to know
Never wanted to show I'm weak
I'm falling all over myself
Trying to be someone else
I wish you would dare to walk me home
So I wouldn't have to feel alone
Always wanted to be
Always wanted you to see my heart
Always wanted your love
Always wanted but never was
I'm falling all over myself
Trying to be someone else
I wish you would dare to walk me home
So I wouldn't have to feel alone
I'm falling all over myself
Dying to be someone else
I wish you would dare to walk me home
I don't wanna fight the world alone
Never told you before
Never loved you more
I'm falling all over myself
Trying to be someone else
I wish you would dare to walk me home
So I wouldn't have to feel alone
I'm falling all over myself
Dying to be someone else
I wish you would dare to walk me home
I don't wanna fight the world alone (x3)
Never wanted you to steal my heart
Never wanted to know
Never wanted to show I'm weak
Trying to be someone else
I wish you would dare to walk me home
So I wouldn't have to feel alone
Always wanted you to see my heart
Always wanted your love
Always wanted but never was
Trying to be someone else
I wish you would dare to walk me home
So I wouldn't have to feel alone
I'm falling all over myself
Dying to be someone else
I wish you would dare to walk me home
I don't wanna fight the world alone
Never loved you more
Trying to be someone else
I wish you would dare to walk me home
So I wouldn't have to feel alone
I'm falling all over myself
Dying to be someone else
I wish you would dare to walk me home
I don't wanna fight the world alone (x3)

I think the song is about someone feeling more passionate about someone than the other person does in a relationship and you're trying to give them your all but they give you half in return.
This song is incredibly painful, but very relatable today to many. I think this song is about a girl who has endured a lot of heartbreak and goes through it once again. The beginning alludes to the fact that she has been through this before. She, "never wanted to feel" "never wanted to show she was weak". Because she has been in that place before, and would rather be numb. And still she can't stay away from this person. So she is "falling all over herself" trying to prove her worth once again to this individual. She's even trying to be the girl this person wants, "Trying to be someone else". But, it's still not enough, for this person doesn't dare get close to her. They keep their distance as they refuse to walk her home. Home being a place where they could really get to know about who she is and what she stands for. She always wanted their heart. But knows, "she never was". In other words, she's not good enough again, and this person is just stringing her along or using her. She knows this, but almost refuses to acknowlege it. So, in a last attempt before she leaves she confesses her feelings even though she already knows they don't feel the same. "Never told you before Never loved you more". So despite the fact that she knows they could care less about her she loves them and has done everything she could to love them well. At the end, I interpret that she sets off alone as expected. She's "dying to be someone else". As she sees how others don't have to "fight the world alone" as she does. She sees how they are happy and how they know love, something she has only given but never received.
'I wish you were dead and walk me home'
shouldn't it be : wish you would dare to walk me home
Listening to Taylor sing this live, you can just hear the emotion in her voice. I got a knot in my chest hearing it the first time, and I'm not even in a heart broken state at the moment. :| This is probably my favorite from them so far.
I think the song is about a girl, she never wanted to fall in love, or really know what it was like to be broken because of it, but now she has no choice. This guy really messed her up.
I always thought it would be:
"I wish you were THERE to walk me home, so I wouldn't have to feel alone"
it would make more sense, especially if the song is about someone who had died .... why would she 'dare' to walk her home?
I love this song so much, even if it is kind of "lovey." The Pretty Reckless is fucking great. Yes, it sounds as though she is reminiscing about someone she loved who died; that they aren't there to walk her home.
I think it's about a death, or an unrequited love
i think this song is about loving someone you shouldn't, such as same sex realationship she 'Never wanted to feel,Never wanted you to steal my heart' she wants to change who she is? 'I'm falling all over myself Trying to be someone else,I wish you would dare to walk me home,So i wouldn't have to feel alone' but she also wants this person to feel the same, she has always wanted to feel their love but never has. this is what i think anyway
