I love this song! My guess is it's about nightmares... since it says he wakes up in the shivering cold. It's liek the saying "a ghost walks over your grave." perhaps this is similar, but it's the nightmares you have, or perhaps the nightmares you have when your always cold. Either way, fantastic!
In case anyone didn't know, this is a cover of a song originally done by "The Cure". They had a lot of great songs. I think I prefer this version, but they're both great.
