Blood On My Hands

To me it sounds like its about a person with a personality disorder. 1 side, you would see them as a social person while the the other side they have a murderous intent which they try to hide. But unfortunately someone found out and now they're probably wishing they never found out about that dark side.

Guitarist Quinn Allman told AOL: "That song is brutal. It's about killing off whatever it is you need to kill off and premeditating that. You can take it anyway you want to, but it's about killing something about yourself or someone. It's awesome."

Its about coming to terms with the existence of certain 'kinds of people' in and from all places.

A summary of what Bert said at Bamboozle was that this song was about how he was up at 4 am and someone broke into his house. The guy noticed that Bert was awake and attacked him. Bert ended up killing the robber in self-defense and the blood on his hands inspired this song.

the whispered lyric at the end is "is it realy that hard for you to belive?"

and i always thought this song was about hiding your real self from everyone because the real you is someone you don't like, someone who is dangerous, hurting, and who hurts other people.

I think this song might have a comparable concept to the TV show Dexter. In Dexter it talks a lot about how he’s just pretending to live a normal life, and bearing a disguise, so to speak, around other people, when in actual fact he murders murderers in his spare time.

When it says “some things can’t be treated” it makes me think how his dad recognized that it wasn’t something that they could completely control so he channelled it into something advantageous.

The whole “there’s blood, blood, blood” etc also makes me think Dexter. Being that Dexter works as a blood splatter analyst.

It may not be based on the TV series, but it definitely revolves around the same concept.

Is it just me or does it sound like the guy is a werewolf or a vampire and that he's ashamed about himself? I know it's not, but its kinda weird.

i've been pleasantly surprised with this song. it's really good. i sort of wrote the used off after lies for the liars and had no interest in their fourth album whatsoever, but if it's all like this and goes back to the self titled sound, i definitely need to check it out.
