Life And Death Lyrics

When we dance
It looks just like fire
When we sing it
It sounds the same tone
We all have hearts
We all have homes
But when we die
We die alone

Oh, what a mess
As everything descends
Oh, what a mess
But everything amends

Searching was so long ago
We always tried, but failed
And now with new-found consciousness
We stand and wait, waiting to die

Oh, what a mess
As everything descends
Oh, what a mess
But everything amends

One of these days
You will learn to love again
One of these days
He will learn to love again
One of these days
He will learn to love again
One of these days
He will learn to love again
[x2]

When we dance
It looks just like fire
When we sing
It sounds the same tone
We all have hearts
We all have homes
But when we die
We die alone
When we die
We die...

Few corrections:

Searching was so long ago We always tried but failed And now with new-found consciousness We stand and wait, wasting this life

That's what I hear in verse II.

My Interpretation

"We stand and wait, waiting to die"..That's what I hear.

i personally found 2 meanings to this song

when we dance it looks just like fire (the art of war: fire from bombs and guns) when we sing is sounds the same tone (gun shots sound the same for the most part)

we all have hearts we all have homes but when we die we die alone (what the soldier thinks during war)

oh what a mess as everything descends oh what a mess but everything amends (the mess and decline of the war, but it will eventually get better)

one of these days you/he will learn to love again (im guessing they're talking about post-traumatic stress or just the impact of the war and how the soldiers either hate everything or the person they loved b4 the war. however, they will eventually recuperate and find out what it means to love, once more.)

I agree, this also is good for The dear Hunter because he joins the army to escape his memories of Ms. Leading. So through all the death that he has seen and caused he comes out hating what he once loved (he is reborn). Hence the title Life And Death.

I'm pretty sure in the first verse, it's:

"We all left hearts We all have homes"

Meaning they left their loves behind for the war, but they still have somewhere to go home to.
