Architect Lyrics

Congratulations for making this world a stage.
When the curtain falls our lives will vanish in applause.

Let this horrid scene be a one that lasts forever.
Lasts forever.

Triumph has its many faces.
Theres only one that will decide.
Triumph has its many faces.
Theres only one that is divine.
We can try and escape.
The fate has us by the throat.

I have never doubted death, never doubted death.
Look to the sky.Say your fucking prayers.

Devour what you thought was right
A pathetic script written by our fathers.

If only there was hope for our souls.
We would be home again.
And I've seen beyond these walls.
Take me home.

I haveopened my eyes, there was nothing
left for me.

Beyond the dead
So what if it's all a lie.
Where will we go from here.
Beyond the dead.

right now mast0d0n's comment is the best one because he actually tried to give the meaning. either this band has no meanings to their songs or there to hard to find out their meanings or this band just isnt that popular. but i like this band tho..

What your jesus hugging ass (wacky) is forgetting is that the whole song uses a stage show as a metaphor for life. Referencing some sort of performance quite a 'bit. Indicating that maybe he believes that all of religion is just a charade. with a bad script. He's losing faith. "if only there were hope for our souls" i.e.- there isn't anymore because he's seen beyond these walls. Walls being walls of the church. How the bible and the church shelters you from the truth.

yeah good point i didnt pick up on those metaphors. this song probably has the most well written lyrics of any hardcore song and miss may i just gets no credit for lyrics. such bull

talking about how relegion has divided us as a people

and that in the end, no matter what, we are united as one in this universe.

Completely wrong he says "Triumph has its many faces. Theres only one that will decide. Triumph has its many faces. Theres only one that is divine. We can try and escape. The fate has us by the throat." He's talking about judgement day because there is only one who will decide our fate and there is only one who is divine is referring to God. Levi Benton is a christian so i'm sure this is what he's talking about. The song says nothing about how religion has divided people and that we are united as one in this universe, sorry but being united as a universe is...

This band definitely has meaning in their lyrics. And Mast0d0n's interpretation is spot on with how I see it.

I think mast0d0n's interpretation is right but a little lacking, What MissMayI are trying to say is that regardless of our divisions by religion, we all go to the same place when we die (where ever that is)and in this place we reunite with our SINGULAR creator. i think that this is a theme aimed at Abrahamic religion (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam) More specifically "a pathetic script, written by our fathers" is more than likely a refrence to Christianity (how many religions have as many sects as Christianity)[Islam:2 Judaism:3 Hindu:5 Jinto:1 Buddhism:2 Christianity:20+ (new sects form almost on a weekly basis) So like mastodon said; it's a refrence to the onenss of humanity and the oneness of God and the need for World human unity. This song is F*ckin awesome, I air guitar to this on a daily basis :) Sholom Malekhem

Ok guys I don't know where you are getting this new age spin off this song...mast0don is not even showing evidence and you're agreeing...but you fail to realize that the guy who wrote the lyrics is a Christian so it would be stupid to be dissing it like that right? Let's walkthrough this and see the real meaning:   "Congratulations for making this world a stage. When the curtain falls our lives will vanish in applause."

This is saying that you can live your life gaining the approval of man instead of God but it will get you nowhere in the end. All the fame and fortune is only a temporary thing that your wasting your life on instead of building for the future.

"Let this horrid scene be a one that lasts forever. Lasts forever."

This is saying that as long as they're is freewill the desire to live for the world will always be there giving us the choice to turn away from it for we cannot know good unless we know evil.

"Triumph has its many faces. Theres only one that will decide. Triumph has its many faces.  Theres only one that is divine."

This is saying that there is many directions in life that promise improvement to our life an many beliefs that claim they are the truth but in the end they all lead to destruction because there is only one way that leads to life and that is through Christ. He says "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except by Me." God is the only one who is divine and He is the one who decides our fate. "We can try and escape. The fate has us by the throat."

This is saying you can try and ignore the truth and continue in your life of sin and reject the people who try to show you it, and as the Bible says you can convince yourself that they are condemning you but they don't have a need to condemn you because you are condemned already. You are walking straight towards destruction although you are blind and your pride makes you not realize the reality of what you are facing.

"I have never doubted death, never doubted death. Look to the sky.Say your fucking prayers."

This is saying that death can come anytime and when it happens if you are not right with God you have no hope so in reality your are doubting death if you are not not making damn sure that you know that when it comes you were on the right path. And then it says now is the time to turn to God and repent and put your trust in Him. The f word wasn't necessary but was likely there to stress that point.

"Devour what you thought was right A pathetic script written by our fathers."

This is saying that the life of sin that is passed on from generation to generation ever since the fall of man needs not to define you any longer. If you love God you hate sin. That is true repentance. If you hate sin you will do everything you can do to be righteous in every decision you make. When you are spiritually blind you see what is wrong as right. It says in the Bible that a fool does what is right in his own eyes. We justify sin in our hearts to be right but we were wrong all along.

"If only there was hope for our souls. We would be home again."

Jesus says that we must become as a child before we can enter His kingdom. This is saying that we must return to the innocence of a young child (before we knew wrong from right and were sinless) before we have hope for our souls and are have the security knowing that we are not enemies of God through our sin. Salvation is the only way for Christ is the pardon for our sin.

"And I've seen beyond these walls. Take me home."

This is saying that he is a witness of the truth. He's gone out of the box that sin traps us in and knows the reality. This is a declaration of his testimony and he is calling for home. For when you have been reborn you are no longer part of this world and the desire to come to your true home is heavy because you have no desire to gain this world which is merely temporary.

"I haveopened my eyes, there was nothing left for me."

Now that he is no longer blind he sees there is nothing he has truly gained from his life of sin and is now an enemy of the world which is blind and is rejected just as Christ predicted.

"Beyond the dead So what if it's all a lie. Where will we go from here. Beyond the dead."

When he is saying "beyond the dead" he is talking about "beyond these walls" for that is what was being repeated by the singer right after singing the part "I've seen beyond these walls. Take me home." The believers are "home" in the afterlife or "beyond the dead".

When it says "So what if it's all a lie. Where will we go from here?" he is saying that what if all it says in the Bible wasn't true and there is no afterlife? Then who cares? All we find is death and nothing beyond that. No big loss there.  But it is WAY better then to reject the Bible and not receive salvation only to find out you were wrong and the Bible was right. Because we can't decide after we have already died. That takes no faith and that is what our relationship with Christ is all about. If the Bible is true you will be facing God's wrath on judgement day. So it's far better to live for God and die and find out your wrong then to reject God and die and find out your wrong!!! And if you don't have salvation you are rejecting God because He says that if you are not with Him you are against Him!

I hope you now understand the message inside these lyrics and learn from them. Thank you.

to me, this song is doubting religion ("say your fucking prayers" doesnt sound very christian wacky lol). "a pathetic script written by our fathers" is a reference to the bible. and then "ive seen beyond these waaaaaaalllllls, taaakkkeeee me hoooommmmeee" (sooo sick) is saying hes seen whats beyond death and that there's "nothing left for me". here he doubts the afterlife and says that "what if (religion) is all a lie" where will we go after death?

double post sorta: also after a quick google search i found this quote from an interview with bassist Ryan Neff- "We simply never EVER were a christian band. I’m a devout atheist and have been since I can remember."
