I Don't Want Lyrics

I don't want to settle down.
I don't want to settle down.
Do you? Do you? Do you?
..and I don't want to live my life
imagining I'm in a movie.
Do you? Do you? Do you?

Ah, sometimes I feel it's such a shame I ever fell for you
Ah, since I'm with you it seems I'm seeing things more clearly
Then I get here.

And I don't want to spend my time
Chasing rainbows 'round the country side
Playing tourist then the tour guide
Pretending everything is fine
and I don't want to be alone
I don't want to be alone
Do you?

Ah Sometimes I feel it's such a weight to have you by my side, cuz
Ah since I'm with you it seems that all my plans have fallen
by the wayside

And I'd like nothing more than this
a winding path on which to wander
time to question and consider
and occasionally a kiss
I'd like nothing more than this.

This song really captures for me how it feels to love someone but still want to live the life you have, just not necessarily 'with' them. The way he constantly asks 'do you?' shows that he still cares what she thinks, but just doesn't 'want to settle down'. I absolutely love the last verse, 'I'd like nothing more than this'. Beautiful.
