A Prescription For Mankind Lyrics

Who are you? Who are you?
Gonna teach me the lessons of life?
Should I beg? Should I steal?
If it's to die for, will it seal the deal?
Should I kneel down and pray?
Kneel down and kiss the divide?

I live in fear
I have ill will

What do you prescribe for a lack of faith?
Is it an ocean away
in a fortress high in the sky?
The heavens gave way
to a molten bloody clot
Down came an angel,
such cantankerous rot

Up rose the devil
to walk within us all
A prescription for mankind?
The devils dance with god

Who, who are you?
Oh teach me the lessons of life
I should beg? I should steal?
I should die for it, seals the deal
Or
Should I kneel down and pray?
Kneel down and kiss the divide?

its about religion and love...FXXX religion...then the ball you are the chain lyric is about the person shes connected with is away from her so now hell is on earth...

I do agree that the song is about religion, but not about a missing loved one.

it starts off with her asking who this ultimate power is: what their guidelines are (should i beg, should i steal) and humanity's purpose (meaning of life). she's also asking how we are to honour this power (kneel and pray, kiss the divide). there is a sense of anger/frustration, but I don't think she's saying fuck religion. it sounds to me she is more frustrated at people's blind faith and obedience from what a book says; frustrated with the amount of groveling and submissive...
