All Babes Are Wolves Lyrics

C-c-c-c-c-come on Babe
Ive never needed you so bad
You were born on a full moon
But baby, Im the only one howling
Baby baby baby
Come on and give me the keys back
I never meant to deceive you
I was born on a bad moon
Baby baby baby

Oh babe I would die for you, whoa
Oh babe I will never stray
Oh babe I would die for you, whoa
Oh babe I will never leave

C-c-c-c-c-come on babe
I never knew that you needed me
I was born on the wrong side
The wrong side, the wrong side of everything
Kn-kn-kn-knives in the kitchen
Sh-sh-sh-sheets on the bed
Its just another distraction
from the love that we have

Oh babe I would die for you, whoa
Oh babe I will never stray
Oh babe I would die for you, whoa
Oh babe I will never leave

Oh babe I would die for you, whoa
Oh babe I will never stray
Oh babe I would die for you, whoa
Oh babe I will never leave

Ive been born inside of Deus/Divus

It sounds like she is talking about someone she really loves/cares about and knows she is different from him. And she wants to work anything with this guy.

Very catchy! I initially thought it was "I was born in a BATHROOM."

Oops. I love Brody with her Spinnerette thing!

I think this is a wild at heart type love song.

The title of the song indicates that the lovers in question see themselves as mated for life, like wolves. They were wild on their own, long before they met, as indicated by the lines: "You were born on a full moon" and "I was born on the wrong side". However, just like any other lovers, this bonded pair has run into a rough patch in their relationship as indicated by the lines: "Come on and give me the keys back/I never meant to deceive you". Whether a lie of omission or a literal deception, things are rocky between them. The lines: "But baby, I’m the only one howling," says maybe one of the pair maybe lacking some of their original passion, or maybe they are depressed and it’s affect their passion for living. The lines: " Kn-kn-kn-knives in the kitchen/Sh-sh-sh-sheets on the bed/It’s just another distraction/from the love that we have" might indicated that some of this pairs turmoil might be surfacing in fights, or disputes over petty things, things that they know ultimately don't matter. In the chorus, it is reiterated that the pairs love is undying despite their troubles: “Oh babe I would die for you, whoa/Oh babe I will never stray/Oh babe I would die for you, whoa/Oh babe I will never leave”.

The final line of the song is very interesting: “Ive been born inside of Deus/Divus”. Deus is Roman for “god” or “gods” and Divus is a “divinized mortal” or a “perpetual deity”. My interpretation is that this line indicates that one-half of the pair in question sees themselves as being reborn inside the divinity of their relationship with their mate. Their relationship is a religion that they were reborn into, and the line feels like kind of a call out to the spirtual or holy aspect of love.

All in all, I think this song is beyond beautiful.

My Interpretation

I completely disagree. While it looks like it is about a man that she is not only in love with, but also infatuated with, I think it is to do about drugs and addiction. "I've never needed you so bad", and the entire chorus is about the weird relationships junkies have with their drugs. Sure, thinking that this is an intense love song makes the song a bit happier, but it is about drug dependency.

I think this is about her daughter

Alyak —— not everything has to be about drugs. I don't understand how nearly every song that fits into any category of Rock is often categorized as a song about drugs. Can't it just be a love song —— which it is??
