R Way Lyrics

What an education, tell them how we tell it r way
What a situation, tell them how we tell it r way
You down with rebelution? Tell them how we tell it r way
Who makes the rules everyday?
I say we tell them how we tell it r way

I'm talking about intelligent design, cuz this should be the last sign
You fool the people but the youth are on the rise, rebels on the prowl in disguise
Unquestioned regulation my friend, patriots long been in the skies, looking over lies
Let us fight, light the night
Now think of children because their life's like a fragile mind
Flip the hook, catch the bait, separate church and state

Oh at the end of their day, they lie awake in bed and thinking they're great
Tomorrow comes and they'll regret what they say
The youth ain't learning in the right way
Oh at the end of their day, they lie awake in bed and thinking they're great
Tomorrow comes and they will regret what they say
The youth ain't learning in the right way

What a revelation oh how they say, but what an aggravation oh how I say
Cuz you know they shouldn't be learning about that in school
Well you say I'm the one, but I know who's the fool

Those politicians well they say what they say
But the youth aint learning in the right way

What a revelation oh how they say, but what an aggravation oh how I say

Well you say I'm the one, but I know who's the fool

I think this song is about the gov. and politics vs. the people. Lets live R way; not their way.

@JonClayton It seems pretty clear that it is about separation of church and state. Specifically, it is speaking against the teaching of intelligent design to the youth.

They are telling the story of how the youth grow up in today's society.

With the sudden influx of connected devices, the youth have a voice all over the world, but at what cost?

They mention intelligent design and the separation of church and state. I think they are athiests, and I think they're saying that the kids shouldn't be taught creationism in school. I hope so because then I have even more reasons to like this band. Off the top of my head, I can't remember if their other lyrics discuss religion. I could be way off, but there's too many parallels to ignore this possibility.

@msm2695 obviously its the opposite. Just because they are stoners and most pot heads are atheists, that doesn't mean that they are atheists. In fact, because they are a reggae band, its more likely that they are creationists, as Rastafarianism is a form of Judaism. They often praise "Jah" and "the most high" which are references to God Jahova of the bible. They are probably political leftists to some degree and support separation of church and state, but that doesn't mean that they aren't creationists. The reference to separation of church and state is probably a dig at evolution being...
