Be All You Can't Be Lyrics
You don’t stop.
Not even to rest.
You’ll clean up the mess
You’ve made out of our lives,
For the last time tonight.
Let them see the liar in your eyes.
They are the last ones down,
But they’re the first ones out.
You’re’ telling the stories,
You’re selling the glory,
To the kids on the bad side of town.
Cross our fingers for believers
Only one cadence away.
The truth is you see troops, not children.
You smile and you pretend,
As you hand guns out to my friends.
You sell these kids a new beginning.
You smile and you pretend,
As you hand guns out to my friends.
A new crop, so hard to resist.
You’re selling the kids with limited options to the lowest bid.
Safety in numbers, proved wrong again.
They are the last ones down,
But they’re the first ones out.
You’re’ telling the stories,
You’re selling the glory,
To the kids on the bad side of town.
The truth is you see troops, not children.
You smile and you pretend,
As you hand guns out to my friends.
You sell these kids a new beginning.
You smile and you pretend,
As you hand guns out to my friends.
I gotta know who you are.
The suspense is killing me.
The kids are backed against the wall.
You set them up to take the fall.
The kids are running on alcohol
With no clue their back’s against the wall.
Not even to rest.
You’ll clean up the mess
You’ve made out of our lives,
For the last time tonight.
Let them see the liar in your eyes.
But they’re the first ones out.
You’re’ telling the stories,
You’re selling the glory,

I saw these guys with streetlight and they played this song. It actually really agitated me. I have way too many close friends as well as family in the military and to me this seemed like a big Fuck You to them.
It's not a fuck you to people in the military. It's about military recruiters who go to lower-income schools and sell joining the army as a way to get out.
