So So Lyrics

Im so so
Its late
And I forgot to take my medicine
Im uptight and tired
In my life its so mechanical
And feeling feeling great
till I realise all the mess im in
Im so uninspired at a time that is so so

Im so so
Its fate
Ive lost my antihistamine
Im finding it hard to fill in the prose of my reasons
for living this when its too late to be late
I don't show up at all
the gaps in my diaries speak volumes about me
Ive done something wrong
at least ive done something
Take me back to the London town
that brought me up
cause its bringing me down
And I will pay you solid gold my friend yeah
Would you take me back to London town
when it felt good to be around
and I will pay you solid gold my friend my friend

Im so so
today my days are unaccounted for
I found I found only too late
that im not alone but im lonely
feeling great in a voice that didn't suit the face
he said he said they're becoming your mistakes
remember that time is the time that it takes
Ive done something wrong at least ive done something
Take me back to the London town
that brought me up cause its bringing me down
And I will pay you solid gold my friend yeah please
Take me back to the town I miss
now morphed into antithesis of
Every thing it used to be im so so

Instead of "Im finding it hard to fill in the prose of my reasons for living this" I hear "I'm finding it hard to fill in the pros (like, as opposed to cons) on my reasons for living list."

To me, the song is about dealing with depression. Saying he forgot to take his medicine meant missing a dose, and that affects his mood. He's feeling "so-so" because he's neither happy or sad, he's caught in the middle because of the aftereffects of the medicine from the day before and the lack of one today. But the medicine isn't really helping him at all, because he still feels lonely and lifeless. Everything's forced and he isn't motivated to do anything. He could possibly be giving up on life, and all he wants is to do is go to the place where he used to be happy.
