Since I was the one who posted the lyrics to this song, I ain´t sure if these are the correct lyrics, but after searching in PJ forums I think they are pretty accurate, and especially after listening to it, in the mp3 version, that HAS GOT a much BETTER SOUND QUALITY than when it was aired on tv!! At the first listen I thought the song was just ok, now with repeated listens I think the song is AMAZING, and I love it so much and I can´t stop listening to it, I love the energy, it´s so amazing indeed, at least in my opinion, I can´t wait til the record comes out!! Now talking about the lyrics themselves, I´ve also read lots of comments on several PJ forums that this song might be an anti-Obama song! I don´t know if that´s true, but I find it odd, if that´s true, because Obama has been a president for like 5 months now, and he barelly had time to fix what´s wrong in USA, and besides the band supported him before the elections, and all of them seem pretty happy and relieved that he was the next USA´s president, so by this if in the future he screws up a lot I´m sure they will probably not approve it(which I really hope doesn´t happen), but I mean he barelly had time to do anything, I´m so sure, they will understand that and wait a little longer before they can judge him, besides like I said they supported him before the elections, and got pretty happy when he won the elections, so that probably makes them have faith in him and wait for what´s gonna happen, when he has more time as a president!! Having that said, I think this song is not for anyone in particular, but for people who probably just lost faith in their lives or in the world (currently because of the world´s state at the moment) and Eddie is just saying that he´s got some (hope) if anyone needs it, that´s what I think this song means, I can be wrong though, obviously!! Anyway I LOVE SO MUCH THIS SONG, I THINK IT´S PRETTY AMAZING, AND I CAN`T WAIT, UNTIL BACKSPACER IS RELEASED!! BRING IT ON SEPETEMBER :)!!

Dude... this song is one hard rockin mothafucka, I love it. This has gotten me so, so pumped up for the new album. This band just keeps burning brighter and brighter - it's quite amazing really.

Now for the lyrics... Initially hearing the song, my first impression was that it was another song looking tongue-in-cheek at drugs (i.e... similar to Severed Hand. But after a closer analysis (and I commend you on doing a good job of interpreting the words) I think this song may be a stab at the record industry. Lets face it, the record industry is in such a dire situation, and will continue to die out in the coming years. At the same time there is a mass of absolutely shit music out there, and rock music really needs a good kick in the balls right now. So I think Eddie's saying that rock music is hard to find right now... but come here if you need some.

But all this is just my interpretation... which Pearl Jam songs are nearly always open to. And I'm mindful of the fact that Eddie often has multiple ideas and themes in his head when he's writing lyrics.

i have only heard the song a few times and i like it more and more each time. After looking at the lyrics i would have to say Jonnies might be correct. I can't wait for the new album. Of course With the new album comes a TOUR. Hell to the yeah. Eddie is the man. keep rocking on. Pearl Jam forever

I didn't like this song on conan...but after listening to it again and again it rocked...it is a good song....I think the got some is whatever you want it to be but most likely hope

THIS SONG IS ABOUT EDDIE BEING A ROCK N ROLL PIMP/PUSHER,, HE'S "GOT SOME" IF WE WANT IT! AND WITH "PRODUCT" LIKE THIS.. HE'S GUNNA GIVE EVERYONE A DIRTY LITTLE ROCK N ROLL "HABIT"!

BTW.. THIS SONG IS GUNNA ROCK LIVE!! I WAS AT A PJ SHOW AT MSG A FEW YRS BACK AND WHEN "EVOLUTION" WAS PLAYED THE WHOLE GARDEN SHOOK AND TREMBLED LIKE LITTLE EARTHQUAKES IN TEMPO. THE BAND ACTUALLY ADRESSED THE CROWD AFTER THE SONG AND ADMITTED THAT THEY FEARED THE VENUE WAS GUNNA COLAPSE, THEY THEN CHECKED W MSG MANAGEMENT TO MAKE SURE IT WAS SAFE TO CONTINUE W THE SHOW! SO FUCKIN AWESOME!!!

It's for when it's not flowing, you're not feeling it. The lights gone out of your life or in your room you can't even recognize yourself in the mirror. "Every night with the lights out where you gone? What's wrong" And you can't get it going. "You can try but you can't turn on YOUR rock song" And the rest of the song is a 'Here you go. We've got one.'--a rallying point. The guys are just trying to cheer you up, share some of that rockin spirit "got some if you need it" "Carry on" "EVERYBODY get it on". And i suppose it could be considered a commentary on the fragility of the moment, the aspect of having to seize the inspiration when it's there "get it" "before it's gone"

I'm getting the feeling that this song is actually directed at the fans or rather, just the people that listen to music today. There isn't any good rock music anymore, especially on the radio. But, Ed Ved has got some rock music. And you better come and get it now because, lets face it, he's getting old and won't be able to rock anymore.

I remember this song when it was called "Gut Feeling" and was written by Devo. Pearl Jam rules!
