This Town Ain't Big Enough for Both of Us Lyrics
How'd I know
How'd I know you would be here
I picked up the tab
Let's get out
Hold you tight
Like the dirty secret
That could never keep
Let's get out
Pass your house
Pass the job that you can't stand
Locked all doors
Let's get out
Your father called
Your only reason to stay here
He only wanted some cash
Let's get out
I fixed up the motor today
Now we can leave anytime we want to
Your tattoos are fading away
Now you can be anything you want to
Now you can be anything you want to
Tonight
I'll drive tonight
Even the sleepless sleep sometimes
Close your eyes tight
I'll drive tonight
We can leave anytime we want to
We can leave anytime we want to
Monday nights
Couldn't move at the Foundry
Where we all used to meet
To get out
There's no one left
Now the chips they dont cut it
Should've left one the lights that burnt out
I fixed up the motor today
Now we can leave anytime we want to
Your tattoos are fading away
Now you can be anyone you want to
Now you can be anyone you want to
Tonight
I'll drive tonight
Even the sleepless sleep sometimes
Close your eyes tight
I'll drive tonight
We can leave anytime we want to
We can leave anytime we want to
Watch the building fade
As stars come into view
Just half a tank away from somewhere new
I want to be anywhere but back
All the neon lights gone black
I want you to wake up far
Away from all that
I fixed up the motor today
Now we can leave anytime we want to
Your tattoos are fading away
Now you can be anything you want to
Now you can be anything you want to
Now you can be anything
Anything you want
Tonight
I'll drive tonight
Even the sleepless sleep sometimes
Close your eyes tight
I'll drive tonight
We can leave anytime we want to
Tonight
I'll drive tonight
Even the sleepless sleep sometimes
Close your eyes tight
I'll drive tonight
We can leave anytime we want to
We can leave anytime we want to
We can leave anytime
Anytime we want tonight.

I'm pretty sure the line, "Even to sleep, we sleep sometimes" is actually, "Even the sleepeless sleep sometimes." I enjoy this song, and I read somebody make a comment somewhere else that it's kind of a response to "Hey Driver," years later, which I can see a little bit of.
thanks for the correction. I wasn't sure about that line. it makes more sense now.

Also, in the last prechorus, Stubby says "I fixed up the 90 today..." rather than "the motor."
I think this song is about a guy who has decided that it's time to escape the town that he's lived in for so long, and he wants to take his girl out with him. It sounds like the town has changed alot from when he was younger, and that there really isn't anything left for him.
