This song is another Final Fantasy related song. The opening scene in Final Fantasy 8 (which is brought back later in the game) has Squall promising to meet Rinoa somewhere. She asks what will happen if he is not there and he says that he will search all over the world for her until he finds her.
The part talking about going back refers to them going back in time and erasing Ultimecia (the antagonist) before she can have her negative impact on Rinoa and the world. The group also has multiple out of body experiences as they are sent back in time to observe events of the past.

I think this song is about him dreaming of a girl or person he loves. And he dreams about them every night. and sometimes the dreams are disoriented. But one time he stopped seeing them in his dreams, so he thought maybe he would see them in reality.
perfect way to end an album. a skylit drive never fails to amaze me in the best way. <3
