Song For The Dreamers Lyrics
Took a ride on the 505
Woke up in Fresno, what a serious dive
Shes got one eye, a way of talking dirty
That's nice
Oh Bill, lives on the hill
Hes got twenty-five wiles and a Coup de Ville
Likes to hang round, way by the still
At night
Sing me a song for the dreamers
Sing me a song
For Bobby Ciccone and Al Capone
And the boys
Sing me a song for the dreamers
Lady luck drives a pick-up truck
She runs numbers for Pearl S. Buck
Shes got a life like a wild coyote
In heat
My brother Rod must get some kind of nod
He fell asleep, drunk behind the wheel of a '56 Dodge
Woke up ten miles outside of Cape Cod
The next morning
Sing me a song for the dreamers
Sing me a song
For Fidel Castro and Jackie O
And the boys
Sing me a song for the dreamers
Sing me a song for the dreamers
Sing me a song
For Johnny O.M. and big Fred Gwynne
And the boys
Sing me a song for the dreamers
Now, one last verse about my friend Dan
He lucked into a hundred grand
Blew it all at the MGM Grand
In three hours
Sing me a song for the dreamers
Sing me a song
For Bobby Ciccone and Al Capone
Sing me a song for the dreamers
Woke up in Fresno, what a serious dive
Shes got one eye, a way of talking dirty
That's nice
Hes got twenty-five wiles and a Coup de Ville
Likes to hang round, way by the still
At night
Sing me a song

And the boys
Sing me a song for the dreamers
She runs numbers for Pearl S. Buck

Holy crap. I submitted the lyrics that are on Steve Wynn's site but some of them are pretty wrong. Go figure. I didn't notice 'til I spotted "big friend Quinn" which I'm pretty sure is "big Fred Gwynne." I'll try to clean it up before I pass out for the night.
Whoever posted the lyrics on Wynn's site musta been drunker than D&D were when the made the record. What a bitch! That'll teach me to post w/o checking, even if it is from the artist's site. If I missed something, post in the comments and I'll try to get back to edit it. That line about twenty-five wiles doesn't look right to me. You can hear the song on imeem if you don't have it. http://www.imeem.com/rockmusic16/music/NUXMGfav/danny-dusty-song-for-the-dreamers/
