Busy Bein' Born Lyrics

The days keep dragging on
this raft keep pushing on, woah

It's always race around
we all just race around, woah

and when the hope's gone the weight falls on me

yeah, when i'm gone the weight falls on me

no sense in signing up, you're names already in
go ahead, you fuking whore, the next got place to rent

coz what i give. it aint half of what i give
and that don't suit me anyway

coz what i give. it aint half of what i give
and that don't suit me anyway

maybe i sacrifice to feel i came alive
maybe it's all the same
at least i'll die with a name

I aint dead yet

give it back
or i'll take it

give it back
or i'll take it

or I'll take it

maybe i sacrifice to feel I came alive
maybe it's all the same
at least I'll die with a name

maybe i sacrifice to feel I came alive
maybe it's all the same
at least I'll die with a name

I aint dead yet

give it back
or I'll take it

give it back
or I'll take it

and when the hope's gone the weight falls on me

yeah, when i'm gone the weight falls on me

and when the hope's gone the weight falls on me

yeah, when i'm gone the weight falls on me

and when the hope's gone the weight falls on me

yeah, when i'm gone the weight falls on me

Give it back We're all dead yet

We're all dead yet

maybe i sacrifice to feel like I'm alive pennyless, it's all the same at least i'll die with a name

maybe i sacrifice to feel like I'm alive pennyless, it's all the same at least i'll die with a name

I ain't dead yet Give it back

We're all dead yet give it back we're all dead yet

and when the hopes gone the weight it falls on me when I'm gone the weight it falls on me

and when the hopes gone the weight it falls on me yeah when I'm gone the weight it falls on me

Lyrics correction:

It's not "we're all dead yet", it is "or I'll take it" i.e...:

give it back, or I'll take it

Which also makes more sense with your interpretation

for the meaning: This song is clearly about depression but the mystery is in the why. What I love about music is how it can mean different things to different people. This song in and of it's self could be about the music industry, life in general, a love with a personality disorder, or being bi-polar. But if you listen to the whole EP you pick up a theme of bad relationship. This song seems to explain why, she (could be a he but just easier to pick on gender and move on) she has some issue that drove him to depression:

The days keep draging on Those rafts keep pushing on whoa The slowest race around We all just race around whoa Life, unlike a mountain dew commercial, is slow and dragging. It is a raft race.

and when the hope's gone the weight falls on me (depression)

yeah, when i'm gone the weight falls on me (depression) no sense in signing up, you're names already in (you have no choice but to be in the race) go ahead, yeah fuck it up, the next guy pays for it (we have all been in a relationship were the preivous asshairs actions fucked up an otherwise good girl)

coz what i get aint half of what i give and that don't suit me anyway (he is giving all he can, she is not giving shit cause she is crazy or PTSD)

maybe i sacrifice to feel like I'm alive (many people sacrifice their well being to carry someone else, it gives a sense of purpose) pennyless, it's all the same (emotionally broke) at least i'll die with a name (marter)

I ain't dead yet (fighting to get out of the depression, the cycle of marterdom, the tempo change in the song is energy and brilliant)

Give it back (loosing the fight) We're all dead yet (realizing that he can't win)

the rest of the song is the struggle to keep fighting while knowing you can't win. All around a brilliant song, and when you listen and realize it is just two dudes, wow.

I hear those "rats" keep pushing on, rather than "rafts." Makes more sense to me too...

I think it's "rats keep pushing on" and "give it back - or I'll take it". Anyways, I take the meaning as his choice to be a musician. He sacrifices an easier way of being successful or making money for his art. It makes him feel alive. He gives all he has and puts everything into his art, but he doesn't get any praise or money. He may die broke, but he'll have his name "MC Rut". When he screams he demands respect and praise for what his art, he wants to be rewarded for his work. "GIVE IT BACK - OR I'LL TAKE IT!!"

Just my interpretation.

saw them perform this at The Boardwalk in Orangevale, CA. amazing! just two guys can create this? again...amazing. when they say, "give it back or I'll take it" i think he may be talking about dignity or something similar.

"and when the hope's gone the weight falls on me" people are always on your case.

mainly i see it as someone who's always under pressure

This is one of those for when you're driving where you slam the gas and pray there are no cops around. Haha.

I believe this song is definitely about depression and how he feels weights are falling on him as he sinks lower and lower as his hope is going away or gone.

I seem to be the odd man out in this group of reveiwers. I kinda thought the song is about social security.Try listening/reading the song with that in mind.

I actually came here just to see if anyone else had this interpretation. It's exactly what I thought when I actually noticed the lyrics.

i always thought this was a personal view on people copying other people, and not being original. I lso got the idea that when he put alot of effort into his life, and name, and everything he's ever accompished, someone "took" it all away from him. when i saw the music video, my view on this song changed. for those who have never seen the video, its about boys fighting(like cock fights with chickens) it seems like their either, forced to do it, do it for money, or cause they have no parents. near the end of the video, it shows two kids actully fighting, and shows view by view of a woman crying and screaming fighting to get to the kids, but i think someones holding her back, so i think the "they have no parents" idea is out, but im still not sure why they are doing it. their in cages, witch makes me think their forced to do it, BUT im not sure. near the very very end, it shows one of the kids winning, then keeps showing veiws of the kid that lost, and it looks alot like the kid that won witch makes me think their maybe related. the kid that won has his hand being held up, and you can see people behind him waving money around and celebrateing(they might be bets) then, at the very end it shows a kid escaping a cage, but i think they brought him back in a bag that they had... so tht once again makes me thing their forced to do it. anyone know what its really about? whats our do you think about the video?? i'm still very confused about the meaning of the video, and the meaning of the song. does anyone know the meaning of the video?

Song Meaning

I think the video is like this... okay so the kids are obviously being forced to fight each other, i dont know why or how it relates to the song. The two boys you see over and over again with cages nearby they form some type of friendship or maybe they are brothers they look similar. I think one day they have to fight each other, and one of them takes his anger out on the other (he's very angry through the video), and takes he to far. :( i have no clue if im even close but thats basically...

Song seems more tuned to material matters than psychological issues, I think. Just my take.
