Better Sorry Than Safe Lyrics
I can't even think of one good reason
Why I'm always thinkin' about leavin'
It's not like everything's so horrible
We've been together for a few years now
And you know all my ins and outs
But everything is way to comfortable
From the moment I wake
I plan my escape
I'm not scared
'Cause I know there's something out there waiting for me
And i swear
That I'll find it someday, just wait and see
I don't care
That you call me crazy
I can't stay 'cause I need room to breathe
There's nothing left to say
Better sorry than safe
Sometimes I wish you cheated on me
Then leavin' here would be so easy
It's time to take a chance and give you up
In the morning I'll wake
And make my escape
I'm not scared
'Cause I know there's something out there waiting for me
And i swear
That I'll find it someday, just wait and see
I don't care
That you call me crazy
I can't stay 'cause I need room to breathe
There's nothing left to say
Better sorry than safe
I'm not scared
'Cause I know there's something out there waiting for me
And i swear
That I'll find it someday, just wait and see
I don't care
That you call me crazy
I can't stay 'cause I need room to breathe
There's nothing left to say
Better sorry than safe
Oh yeah
There's nothing left to say
Better sorry than safe
Why I'm always thinkin' about leavin'
It's not like everything's so horrible
We've been together for a few years now
And you know all my ins and outs

I have a somewhat interesting interpretation of the song. It is in the perspective of an unreasonable person who left their spouse with no good reason. They knew deep down that it was wrong to leave for no good cause ("I can't even think of one good reason, why I'm always thinkin' about leavin") But throughout the song, they are trying to convince them self that what they are doing is ok and making irrational excuses to ease the guilt of what they did. ("I can't stay cause i need room to breathe", "Cause i know theres something out there waiting for me", "Everything's way too comfortable") Lzzy may have been affected by someone like this or have been bothered by this concept and that's why she wrote in the perspective of them. This is just my interpretation.
well i think it might be something in this perspective : in love , but the person that shes with only wants to settle down so she think hell i know i can make something out of myself but he just wants me to stay here and be held down in other words loving somebody so much that she has to let them go
I think the song is about someone who is in a committed relationship, but they don't want to just stay settled down with that person. As much as they love each other, she can't stay with him. She wants to meet new people; experience new things. She feels bad for leaving him, hence the phrase, "better sorry than safe," but she just doesn't feel right in her current position.

Most likely about being in a relationship where you love the other but feel like it's not go for you likely mentally and emotionally. Overcoming challenges in a relationship can make it stronger but too many especially early on could affect someone badly.
