Heard a thrity-second clip of this on Popjustice. Actually blew me away. It is pure auditory beauty.

Awesome, very emotional song. Makes you wanna cry your eyes out. At least it makes me wanna cry my eyes out. As mentioned already, it's about the tough experience of onesided love. The phase, where it's still hurting. Where you know, that there is no possible way for your loved one to fall in love with you. Because he/she is already bound to someone else. However, you can't turn off your feelings just yet. You still catch yourself enjoying to be around your crush. Enjoying the flirting. Makes it just worse, whenever you have to realize, that there is no future. It makes you fall. Hard. This song just describes that whole feeling oh sooo well. Amazing.

must say however that it is a really relaxing song and i do genuinely feel sorry her in this song! beautiful melody and structure, and coming from someone who is mainly a indie - rock fan i didnt think i would even like this band but ive been converted!

Love that is not mutual - Possibly one the hardest of things to try and deal with. A truly sad song.

I don't think it is actually unrequited love.

It seems more like she has feelings, the object of her affections has feelings back but doesn't act on them. I think it is more about having strong feelings for someone and them liking you back but they can't act on the feelings because they are with someone and worry how others will perceive them if they do leave them for you.

It's a beautiful song.

this song totally hit home for me. i'm sure many people can relate to it. it truly is a great piece, two thumbs up for la roux!

I think it's pretty obvious what this is about, but I'll say what I think anyway.

Obviously it's unrequited love, she wants to see him, to be with him - but at the same time it hurts too much knowing he'll never feel the same way about her. That's why it hurts to look in his eyes, to see him with someone else. She wants to see him, because she loves him, and seeing him is a high, but she also knows how quickly he can (and will) take that high away from her, when he makes her realise that he'll never feel the same way. And she just wants to be comforted.

It's a song that we can all relate to. Which I think most of La Roux's songs are.

This makes me cry and Elly did cry multiple times when recording it, it's my favourite song and it has a special meaning to me like most of the songs off the album.

This song makes me think of someone that I have feelings for but nothing could possibly ever come out of it. I hate watching that person with someone else but I'm so use to it that i'm numb to it. We have an amazingly strong connection but the longing for something real wasn't mutual. slowly inside something died. annnd life goes on. -- Nicely done La Roux <3<3
