Come Undone Lyrics
You don't know how you're coming across
You don't know what you're coming across
You don't know who you're coming across
You don't know how you're coming across
So you come undone
You don't know how you're coming across
Acting like you don't give a toss
Walking around like you're on some kind of cross
And it's a shame on you, the irony's lost
When you come undone
You come undone
You know, you come undone
You know, you know, you know
You don't know how you're coming across
You don't know how you're coming across
And I don't think that you're aware of the cost
So you come undone
You come
You come undone
You know, you know, you know
You don't know what you're coming across
You don't know who you're coming across
You don't know how you're coming across
So you come undone
Acting like you don't give a toss
Walking around like you're on some kind of cross
And it's a shame on you, the irony's lost
When you come undone
You come undone
You know, you come undone
You know, you know, you know
You don't know how you're coming across
And I don't think that you're aware of the cost
You come
You come undone
You know, you know, you know

"You don't know how you're coming across You don't know what you're coming across You don't know who you're coming across You don't know how you're coming across So you come undone"
"When you're performing, you don't realize what you sound like or how you're coming across. You just open your mouth and sing." -Moonwalk by Michael Jackson
Okay ??
Why the fuck some of you guys think this song is weak ? I think this song is nice but it's nothing more, nothing less, nothing "weak" either IMO. Like most of the songs of Battle For The Sun. This album is an okay one, it's nothing amazing compared to previous ones and the next ones i hope. We all do ? Right ?
Some songs are still great like King Of Medicines & Speak In Tongues.
But ok, let's talk bout Come Undone. This song is really interesting to me for two very simple reasons : vocals & music. The lyrics could have been way better i heard i heard.. but see it this way, if Brian wanted to make "better" lyrics (call it the way you want), they would have been. This song seems to be simple. It is probably NOT =)
Well, I already mentioned one reason: because of the boring lyrics. Now you gave me another: the music. And your view won't make me like the song more... Sorry, it is called OPINION.

it's a SHAME that no one understood the meaning of this whole BRILLIANT album! it's a WARNING to each of you, maybe not easy to understand back in 2009, but today it should be..
i love this song, i love all the new songs! heard them first live and i thought WOW straight away i can relate with this album as all the others so i'm really fond of it
There's not much to the lyrics of the song. We're not told a story, but nonetheless, the message of the song is clear. And that's very important for a song in order to resonate with the audience. We're basically told if you're unsure of how you come across, you shouldn't pretend to be someone you're not. It's always better to stay true to yourself. And the main character in the song acts like a mentor figure to the person the song is addressed to. But the mentor lacks the right words in communicating his worry. Nonetheless, the message is clear. It's a cautionary tale.
I don't like the lyrics... I think they're boring, although I should have a more rounded opinion after I hear the song.
This song is really good. One of my favorites. The music is beautiful. The mid-break is just fit to the feeling that comes with the lyrics.
Well, I heard the song and now I can say it's definitely the worst song of the album IMO. Nothing compared to Devil In The Details, Kitty Litter, Breathe Underwater and Julien. Sorry to anyone who like the song.

Is it just me or did they re-use lyrics from Lazarus (one of the b-sides from Meds)?
yeah that's what i thought! especially the 'some kind of cross' bit maybe this song's referring to himself- that's what i thought lazarus was about anyway.

yes! that's what i thought, too. i LOVE lazarus, not so sure about this song though. i also think there has to be a 'connection' between these two songs. :)

i agree with the others who say it is connected to Lazarus, like some continuation of that lament- just a commentary on the sad state of your life narrated in the third person

probably, it was written as a B-side for Meds (right??) so the time period is close too, lazarus had more of that placebo quirkiness compared to this song, but it's still a great song

Personally, I REALLY do like this song. It's not definitely not as raw as some Placebo songs are, but I think there's definitely power behind this song. I like all the riffs and the way Brian sings it... he sounds helpless to me.
veryyy powerful! on the helpless thing, when he starts really going for it it's like he's attacking himself! it's great ha
