I love this concept of being so in love with a person that even though it's obvious that they're not going to commit to you, you'll still stick around for when they want you to be there. It's so self-destructive, but so honest. This is what people do.
Hmmm, I don't think it's about a guy taking advantage of her at all. I think it's actually about projecting fears that make you miss things in a relationship. I think it's about how her perception of him as a boyfriend clouds what is their and how being in love with someone can throw your expectations out of perception. The amount of times she mentions love I think it's obvious love plays a part but what does love even mean? It's almost impossible to measure, and it's not a fairytale. How can it be? They allude to myths and fairytales, in the real world the idea that someone can save us is founded on fairytale expectations. and while we should all expect to get that from someone we forget that it is this we want and not the person, because if it was the person we wanted we would not be feeling neglected. again i think it is just another song about the illusions we have about love just like wish you were.

i agree with icesk8ngurl about the meaning of this song. it's a good song, although a bit sad. the lyrics are very honest.
This song is my life right now...as sad as it is, I haven't gotten to the end of the song where I am strong enough to move on and get over the guy. Anyways, this song is amazing, the vocals, the lyrics...I love it all.

This song is very adorable but hard to listen to because its sad and slow. I still love it though and i can relate as well as i think a lot of other girls can. I like the ending how it shows she is getting over him and hopefully all us girls out there will get to that point, i know i want to =)
it's about her process of getting over someone, or an ex boyfriend. she's waiting around for him to even care, or give her a second thought. towards the end of the song that's when she finally moves on. i'm sure this hits a soft spot in everybody who's listened to it.
I have lived this song. I have been talking to a guy for 4 months and iv been through so much heartache. Hes in a relationship and this song is just so perfect and everything i could possibly say about this horrible shit iv been through. Not sure if i am at the end yet. Maybe one day.
So i don't know any of you, but this song can become really personal and most of you said that you've all been through or are going through 'heartache', 'loss' and just can't figure out who you are. Well i've been through all of it and i came out strong, so from my own personal experience don't ever think you can't get through cause you can. Everything can get better, always no matter what. We're all humans and humans are resilient and always bounce back. So never think that you arent strong, cause you are. Just don't give up, cause like they say on One Tree Hill 'Your art matters' and if you give up then you won't get to create that art. We all get dreams, so dream broad and pursue them, cause you all deserve it.

I also agree with icesk8ngurl. This song is clearly about a girl who is in love with a boy, who is almost taking advantage of her. She claims that she will love him "Forever" while he will love her "almost always."
This relationship seems to be stricly on his terms, and in the end she's the one thats getting the short end of the stick. She loves him so much so she won't give up on him (until she makes the realiation later on in the song).
