This song is incredible because it really connects with anyone's whose gone through a breakup in the manner Nate's describing in the song. Underneath the "fun" exterior of the music lies some real pain. When Nate's singing about feeling better about himself and pleadingly sings "I do, I do, I do" it's as if he's trying to convince himself that he's really feeling better - so sad :(

It's simple really; his relationship ended and now he's trying to move on but there's still this fixation there with his ex-girlfriend who he doesn't exactly hate.. makes me think that she ended it and he doesn't really understand why, or doesn't agree with the reason, still caring for her deeply.. hence him caring so much as to mess up every time he tries to go out. And I believe these are a better layout of the lyrics;

No wonder I was confused there were like no lyrics for fun... this listing is wrong, there's supposed to be a period at the end.

this adds up the whole meaning of this song. i think the song is about not being able to get over someone, and although you go out and try to meet others, everything just reminds you of them.

I feel like this song is talking about that one person, whether it's a missed chance or not doesn't really matter.

It's like when you feel such a connection with someone and when you're away from them, you try to compensate, try to get the "pretty girls" because that's what we aim for. However, you can never shake the feeling of how much that person meant to you.

He states all the "quirks" or "imperfections" in the other person that he has fallen in love with. Her 80's style, her boots and long hair. All of these he has come to love and he can't get her out of his head no matter what.

Good stuff! Can't wait for the album. 22 more days!
