Your Shadow Lay Across My Life Lyrics
Back
I'm back in town
In which we're stuck
I couldn't get out
And that old man
Will soon be us
Now if we're too late
Now if we can't escape
All of my time
You were on my mind
All of my thoughts
You're so hard to find
And your shadow, it lay across his life
Heeyyyy
Time
A time in the past
We couldn't care less
Wanted to live fast
But our old house
I can't find
Cause it ain't there
Cause it ain't there it's gone
All of my time
You were on my mind
All of my love
You're so hard to find
And your shadow, it lay across my life
My life...
And your shadow, it lay across my life
My life...
And your shadow, it lay across my life
And your shadow, it lay across my life
I'm back in town
In which we're stuck
I couldn't get out
And that old man
Will soon be us
Now if we're too late
Now if we can't escape
You were on my mind
All of my thoughts
You're so hard to find
Heeyyyy
A time in the past
We couldn't care less
Wanted to live fast
But our old house
I can't find
Cause it ain't there
Cause it ain't there it's gone
You were on my mind
All of my love
You're so hard to find
My life...
My life...
And your shadow, it lay across my life

This songs is excellent cant beleive no-one hasnt commented yet!!
anyways listening to song and looking at the lyrics it seems to me that its a song about 2 things: wanting to escape your surroundings and how much 1 person can have a effect on your life. Looking at the first verse i thinks its self explanatory in its message of escaping the sitaution, moving away starting afresh. Also, maybe i think that what the songs is trying to convey that maybe this peron who has laid a shadow is also the reason why they want to escape??
@azpoo I agree. Shadow references to darkness I believe. 2nd verse he talks about how they lived fast and carelessly, and I think something bad happened like she left him. But he can't let go of the past (her), so every time he thinks about her, it takes him to a dark place...did any of this make sense?
