We Did Nothing Wrong Lyrics

We danced along to the violence
Not scared of anyone
And they wont complain
As long as we explain
Exactly what have we done

You see these walls
They wont kill that beast in your heart
Or deep in your soul
I wanna know if it's just
An opinion, or lust
Why do we lose control?

Chorus
Whooa oooh
We did nothing wrong
Whooa oooh
We did nothing wrong

We play ourselves like we're victims
But we stand alone in line
Took that test when we were all the best
But we, just lost the time (just lost the time)
Bought ourselves when we knew all along
Knew all along, but we stayed
If we forget
Then how can we regret a single word we said

Chorus
Whooa oooh
We did nothing wrong
Whooa oooh
We did nothing wrong

All we want, all we take
All we love, All we hate
How we fell, all we feel
All that's left, is nothing real?

guitar

We danced along to the violence
Not scared of anyone
See, they wont complain
As long as we explain
Exactly what have we done

Chorus
Whooa oooh
We did nothing wrong
Whooa oooh
We did nothing wrong
(repeat)

All we want, all we take
All we love, all we hate
How we fell, all we feel
All that's left, is nothing real?

This is a great song from a really underrated (or for many, unheard of) band. I think the lyrics in this song have strong ties to personal responsibility, something not so common anymore.

"We play ourselves like we're victims But we stand alone in line"

These lyrics stand out the most to me. Many people I have met come up with many excuses when it comes to their financial failures or grades in school. As an old saying goes - excuses are for those that need them.

"All we want, all we take All we love, all we hate How we fell, all we feel All that's left, is nothing real? "

This is the clincher, the last line I think is really where you can take something from this song. If you can own up to your actions and control yourself then anything is obtainable.

Maybe the thought process of a person in prison for commiting a crime? They always think they did nothing wrong.

"We danced along to the violence, Not scared of anyone." Killing someone, and not caring?

Just a thought. And they really should be famous, they have amazing songs. :)

This song is a racist dog whistle. No bones about it. This band literally "plays the victim" as they say in this song by pretending to be canceled when they were never relevant in the first place. They're from fucking Utah but go out of their way trying to sound like an edgy southern band. Even though they fail spectacularly at this, they retain a following of strangely southern-acting racist people from the west-mid-west (lol). I can't type my reasons for legal reasons but rest assured, I have them. I will be a happy man the day this band hangs it up. If they don't do it soon, I hope they suffer financially in a major way until they do. The singer is just gonna get a publishing deal and tell the rest of the band to fuck off anyway. You can really tell.
