Looking around, wondering what become of what I once knew
Pop punk mutation lacking passion, that keep ringing untrue
There's something wrong with this picture,
hot topic setting standards for you to consume, for you to consume
Many of the roots can be traced back to where we're standing
There were people just like me and you, who never thought of landing
In a place bands get squeezed out to make rooms
for third generation blink-182 rip-offs
Is there something I don't get? How do you buy into this?

Went to the Vans warped tour last weekend: was an outsider looking in
All the kids were buying so much crap, amidst a generation gap
It was so fucking hot it sucked; wanted a beer it cost six bucks
Seen many faces throughout the years, as soon as they come they disappear
And now I watch this band with black make-up and silly synchronized jumps
In a gigantic parking lot, in the wal-mart of punk rock
Is there something I don't get? How do you buy into this?
