You Should Have Been Nice To Me Lyrics

You could have told me
At the right time
You could have introduced me proudly
Never need to have to kiss me
Never need to ever touch me
But

You should have been nice to me
You should have been nice to me
It would have been so easy

And on the moments
When I was down
You could have been there
You could have been where
You could have once just spoke in favour
You'd never need to ever touch me
But

You should have been nice to me
You should have been nice to me
It wouldn't cost you money

And on the moments
When I fell down
Not for you to say 'oh I told you so'
You could have waited
You could have waited
You could have waited

Very soothing song, the production is unique for something from his solo career.

I'm guessing "you should of been nice to me" refers to someone who treated him badly before his Smith's fame...and how now they probably wish they had been nicer? I have no idea, but I like it.

This just means that we should all be kind to each other. Simple as. In relationships, kindness and affection is above physical contact -- at least to Morrissey (and to me). We are all delicate, fragile people, and really, all we want is somebody who'll treat us kindly and love us no matter what...and not because they have to.

"In relationships, kindness and affection is above physical contact." LOL. Some need to tell it to their girlfriends OR get a real pet instead of an online pet:-)
