I hate to call on an old theme, but it seems to me it might be a couple having addiction issues. He finds her passed out/overdosed and tells her that he will follow her if she goes, probably by taking an OD also.

i love the lyrics to this song, they are so beautiful (: one of my favourites of them album.
pretty sure it aint aint about drugs, seen as though faris hates any sort of glamourisation of drugs in his lyrics. just a breakup song me thinks.
the vibe and buildup of this song remind me of Atmoshpere by Joy Division

Anyone else think there is a 'hell' theme to this. 'Coming down', 'flames', 'to the end I will defend you' Drug references for sure, but the instrumentation and feel of this song also makes me think of a man visiting hell for his love.
