Eagle on a Pole (Jason Boesel) Lyrics
I saw an eagle on a pole
I think it was an eagle
Now that eagle has flown
And I'll never know
Could have been a rotten apple
Full of holes
Could have been an open wine bottle
Ready to go
Or it could have been an eagle on a pole
Well the beauty of the seasons
Can rip a man up whole
And what's happening while you're sleeping
You will never know
Never trust a truly wayward
Wandering soul
Never trust a wanted woman
Who can't say no
And you never trust an eagle on a pole
I've seen pictures of my face from
Where I swear I did no go
Looked like laughing, looked like stealing
But I will never know
Looked like running, leaving tracks
Through the morning snow
Looked like darness and the light
Going toe to toe
And it looked just like an eagle on a pole
Looooooook Ouuuuuut!
Evil come and there's nothing left to laugh about
Eden come and we're crying cause we can't get out.
Get out! Get out!
Something moving, something floating
Something falling soft and slow
It was getting super natural
But you never know
Getting ready for the girls
At the burlesque show
Getting ready for the night time
Street lights glowing
Get ready for that eagle on a pole
Looooook Ouuuuuut!
Evil come and there's nothing left to laugh about
Evil come and there's nothing left to laugh about
Eden come and we're crying cause we can't get out.
Get out! Get out!
Don't you wanna know why?
Why not? Why not?
Don't you wanna know why?
Why not? Why not?
Don't you ever trust an eagle on a pole
Don't you ever trust an eagle on a pole.
I think it was an eagle
Now that eagle has flown
And I'll never know
Full of holes
Could have been an open wine bottle
Ready to go
Or it could have been an eagle on a pole
Can rip a man up whole
And what's happening while you're sleeping
You will never know

And you never trust an eagle on a pole

I like how the song has the same name as the other, but it is completely different, but the content is somewhat the same
@irthesteve And it leads into the other one so well.

finallyyyyy, ive been waiting for someone to post these lyrics
i'm absolutely in love with this version of Eagle on a Pole, the vocals are my faveeee
This version is my favorite. His voice is so rich and dreamy.
this is a very paranoid song. i think boesel sees the "eagle on a pole" as a once in a lifetime opportunity whether it be your big break in life, or the oppotunity at a great relationship what have you. maybe saying that some opportunities are too good to be true?
