End of October Lyrics

I can remember standing beside you
You were a million miles away
That day in September, buried inside me
Trying to get back yesterday

Richmond, Virginia never seemed colder
Trying to keep from breaking down
How did we get through the end of October?
Picking the pieces up somehow

It seems so strange

I could hear you singing, "Don't cry"
After all these years, there's a song you can hear in the twilight
Keep a picture of me in your mind
You've got so many reasons to smile

Na na na na, na na
Na na na na, na na

The road that we travelled plays like a movie
Over and over again in my head
Always behind me, keeping me steady
Now you're the beat inside my chest

You're above me now

And I hear you singing, "Don't cry"
After all these years, there's a song you can hear in the twilight
Keep a picture of me in your mind
If you can't find a reason to smile

Na na na na, na na
Na na na na, na na
Na na na na, na na
Na na na na, na na

How did we get through the end of October?
Picking the pieces up somehow

Cover art for End of October lyrics by Pat Mcgee Band

It's about Chris Wilson - Pat has said so many times at shows. Former drummer who died unexpectedly at the end of October (idk year?) I actually met him twice. real nice guy. so sad. beautiful song.
