Ben Has a Kid Lyrics
I mean this, I'm not sure if you could say the same.
Week after week after week
Idolatry is wasted reverence, idolatry is the yellow on your teeth.
GASP FOR THE TRUTH YOU ONCE LIVED.
Beyond this world is what is always breathing,
Beyond this world is worth dying for.
I remember what you used to claim,
You can't bury conviction with anything.
OUR MESSAGE WILL GROW,
No matter the mistakes made within construction.
Beyond this world is what is always breathing,
Beyond this world is worth dying for.
GASP FOR THE TRUTH YOU ONCE LIVED.
I pray that stolen glimpses do not subtract from what we've been building.
Keep stride persistent in our march.
Keep stride persistent in our march.

i think this song is about how sometimes as christians, we lose our focus and forget what we stood for in the first place, when we were first so fervent in our salvation. it is a reminder of the message that truly is worth dying for and encouragement that our mistakes are able to be overcome. 'you can't bury conviction with anything' is nodding to the fact that we should have a kind of fervor for the message that cannot be overshadowed by other people's cynicism and doubt.
Beyond this world is what is always breathing, beyond this world is worth dying for.
I think this part is referring to eternity and the afterlife that Christians are taught to strive for. Idk if that makes sense but when I first heard it, that's what I immediately thought of.
Such a good song. BTW, Ben is Chris Rubey's brother. He didn't really have a kid, though hah.
the part where he says no matter the mistakes made within consruction, that's the sweetest breakdown EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i love this song, but it's hard to say it's my fav. they havent made one unlikeable song on this album. GO TDWP!!!!!!!
Beyond this world is what is always breathing, Beyond this world is worth dying for.
Definitley my most favorite line in this song, not only are the vocals good but it has a clear meaning,
Beyond our lives on Earth in heaven is what i see this line saying. and it's truly worth dying for and living for to Christians.
Reminding Christians to keep their eyes on JAY-SUS. xD
Yeah. Just a song about staying faithful and resisting temptations.
I agree completely with chelsrouk. "Gasp for the truth you once lived" (I always thought he said "loved") is explaining that the Truth is what you should live off of, like you live from breathing air. Always keep focus and don't let anything get you down, because God is waiting beyond this world.
Amazing song.
OUR MESSAGE WILL GROW NO MATTER THE MISTAKES MADE WITHIN CONSTRUCTION best part!!! One of the three best songs on the album!!!
In no particular order: Danger: Wildman, Dez Moines, Ben Has a Kid!!!
