Lifted Lyrics

Inside, inside your head you're wasting away

Away right in front of my
eyes
You're scared, so weary and worn the fuck out
The addictions made you so
sick, so sick and filthy
Poison
Your burden is life
It's made you weak and
shake in the knees
shake in the knees
Inside, inside your head you're wasting away

Away
right in front of my eyes
So get lifted

Dependant on this artificial
feeling
Poison
It's made you weak and shake in the knees
This is not your
reality
reality
reality
This is not you
It's made you weak and shake in the knees

This
is not your reality
is not your reality
is not your reality
is not your reality
This is not, this is not you

This is not your
reality

I think that this song is about a drug addict.

"Your burden is life It's made you weak and shake in the knees" kind of a little excuse why he takes drugs?

"Dependant on this artificial feeling" describes the feeling of being high on drugs, and that the one spoken to is addicted to that feeling.

"This is not your reality" might be also a hint at the topic of drug addiction because they might see everything else but reality when they are high.

Just my two cents about this song, waiting for other guys to get into the song meaning ;)

My Interpretation

The song's about a person with a Cocaine addiction. Which none of the members currently have. Marijuana and Cocaine are too completely different narcotics. Bud is natural, Coke is processed with synthetic characteristics along with plant characteristics. Yes, Smoke is about weed, but it's speaking of the drug in a higher perspective than, let's say, Snoop Dogg would. So if a band wants to write amazing songs about drug addiction (when none of them have one), and would like to base the lyrical content of it around an imaginary, or real, person, so fucking be it.

Your ignorance leads you to believe SS is contradicting themselves.

I'm sure this song is about God being the artificial feeling. The poison.

"Dependant on this artificial feeling. Poison. It's made you weak and shake in the knees. This is not your reality. This is not you."

The dependence is something or someone that you think is in a higher place. So it keeps you down never letting you to realize the truth.

So got go lifted and relax!

My Opinion

to me i see this song as about a person. a person who tries to cure all their problems with drugs. and its just ruining them. the lyrics seem that way but i thought Suicide Silence got high...

"It's made you weak and shake in the knees shake in the knees Inside, inside your head you're wasting away" The narrator is describing someone who suffers from depression and anxiety. They fear basic social situations, possibly from past trauma. "So get lifted." Sarcasm.

"Dependant on this artificial feeling. Poison. It's made you weak and shake in the knees. This is not your reality. This is not you." The narrator's friend self-medicates their anxiety with drugs (a heavier one, possibly pills). The drugs make our 'victim' feel the same symptoms as their disorder would.

For a pro-420 band like SS, this is a nicxe change of pace. Anti-heavy drug song.

Replace harmful drugs with a plant called Marijuana get lifted, then the next song is smoke def about weed. I LOVE THIS BAND

its pretty hypocritical to make a song about "an artificial feeling" as a bad thing then the next song be about smoking weed. Typical SS.

It's not "anti-drug," what is, is anti-using-drugs-as-a-crutch.

i think it's about drugs too......"lifted" could be something about religion, though. and the shaking knees part makes me think of religion. but still, i think it's about drugs.
