Last Tango in Brooklyn Lyrics

I took off my clothes, She took off hers too,
With no fan fairs and no hallelulijahs,
Throughout the night, I would grind away the truth:

That there's nothing sadder than sad, sad sex
And the bad, bad news is that I gave in,
To the ugly hand, that first led me away from you.

All the fun stuff is not so fun without you...

Well I drink until I fill my brim,
But there's nothing fills me up the same
As a tiny word, broadcast across the sea(?)
Should I go out to dance tonight,
While my two left feet need you to write,
I'll spin around in circles endlessly.

All the fun stuff is not so fun without you...

Well the city's born bright blue today
I whistle through the sunlit streets
But my empty hand fell cold from under you.

I'm quite alright, I'll get by just fine,
I'm not depressed, not most of the time.
It's just the fun stuff is much less fun without you.

All the fun stuff is much less fun without you...

Extrasupervery, I salute you. I only know about this utter gem because you put up the lyrics :)

So, the singer was in a relationship, had an affair which caused the relationship to break and is now pining for the girl he lost. Pretty straightforward, but damn I wish I could write lyrics like that. Incredible stuff, one of the reasons I adore Frightened Rabbit <3

:) Glad I could help. Everything that man writes is pure genius!

This song is so brilliant. Every time it comes on I have to hit repeat and listen to it over and over. I agree, the man is a great writer.

Correction of the lyrics: I'm 100% sure he sings "And should I go out to dance tonight, Well my two left feet need your two right Or I'll spin around in circles, endlessly"

That's my favourite part of the song. It describes perfectly the loneliness of the singer and how lost he feels without the girl.

Also, isn't it "But my empty hand felt cold and underused"? Not sure about that one, but it seems to make a bit more sense.

Love this song.

On the Fat Cat website, this song's just called "Fun Stuff". Assuming they've just changed the name? Amazing song, regardless.

yea its coming along with his new single. he added some neat effects

I don't like the new version (Fun Stuff) as much as the original. There are some good ideas there, but as a whole it sounds messier, not as well balanced. Plus the vocals seem to get lost in the mix at times and with lyrics as perfect as these, that annoys me.
