Louder Than Thunder Lyrics
What would it take
for things to be quiet, quiet like the snow
I know this isn't much
But I know I could, I could be better
I don't think I deserve it, selflessness
Find your way into my heart
All stars could be brighter
All hearts could be warmer
What would it take
For things to be quiet, quiet like the snow
Are we meant to be empty handed
I know I could, I could be better
I dont think i deserve it, Selflessness
Find your way into my heart
All stars could be brighter
All hearts could be warmer
What would it take, for things to be quiet
for things to be quiet, quiet like the snow
I know this isn't much
But I know I could, I could be better
I don't think I deserve it, selflessness
Find your way into my heart
All stars could be brighter
All hearts could be warmer
What would it take
For things to be quiet, quiet like the snow
Are we meant to be empty handed
I know I could, I could be better
I dont think i deserve it, Selflessness
Find your way into my heart
All stars could be brighter
All hearts could be warmer
What would it take, for things to be quiet

Since nobody bothered to give the meaning yet...
This song is about how Christ laid down his life in an act of selflessness for us, which we in no way deserve. About how none of us can give anything to repay that sacrifice, and we all know we could lead better lives and strive to become like Him.
I clap to you for ur interpretation ! I luv this song mostly for that reason.

I love this song! It really gets me, especially the 'I can be better' line- that one one is just so powerful... I like the Christ interpretation, but I didn't initially make that connection. I actually viewed it as something to do with mentally beating yourself up when important relationships, friendships or generally things in life go wrong. -First, you want to escape from the noise and conflict ('what would it take, for things to be quiet?' etc), -Eventually you try to do anything to make the situation and yourself "better" (I know this isn't much/ Are we meant to be empty-handed? I know I could, I coud be better'). -If the problem doesn't come right, even with your efforts, you either believe you've been wronged or you go into a huge guilt phase, saying you didn't deserve what you lost anyway ('I don't think I deserve this') -You may then feel you were selfish when handling the situation and wish you were less so ('Selflessness, find your way into my heart') -Finally it hits you- the loss of the important person or thing makes your world a much bleaker, colder place ('All stars could be brighter, all hearts could be warmer') REALLY far-fetched, but that's how I enterpreted the song initially....
I was going to post something very similar, but then I saw yours and I decided to comment instead. I completely agree. It makes more sense to me and I connect to this idea more because I am not religious, though I do see where other people are coming from.

You bring such a valid point. I'm not religious either, but I see every TDWP song as religious because I know how religious they are.

this song means when jesus was crucified for other peoples sins people have been takig it for granted (i don't think i deserve it selfisness)selflisness is the opposite of selfish (find your way into my heart) he is talking about god and how people should accept him into there hearts (what woud it take for things to be quiet) my guess is that thee is so mch chaos and stuff going on in the world he wants o know what it would take for it all to stop.hope this helps XD
