I remember way back, I mean way back ages.
Eighth grade I think, feels like yesterday.
Bowl cuts was the craze, I was crazy.
Long blonde hair all over the place.
And I'm pale as I ever was.

And that was back in '98 wit the "Annie" sample and "Money Ain't A Thang".
And even though I couldn't relate, I kept studyin, and listenin and stuffin my face and now...

And then came High School, started picking up a mic thought I was cool.

When Uncle C passed away leaving us empty.

And the misuse of words used to diss dudes.

I had to believe it, cause that explains why the leave us.
As in people that mean everything.

Best song on the album in my opinion, good choice on the Ben Kweller sample. I don't have a whole lot to comment as far as the meaning of the song, it's actually pretty simple, but it's a great one to chill with.
A couple mistakes on the lyrics as they are currently posted, the main one being towards the end of the first verse, it should be: "That was back in '98 with the Annie sample and Money Ain't a Thang"
