Cool song. it's very powerfull!
To me, just now reading these lyrics, I feel as though its talking about being with someone who seems to be out of place in a relationship (seems like you did not know/faith couldnt blind you here). One is "darker" than the other. (darkness belonged to me/in a mad world that i create)

But even though theres a lack of understanding (cant bleed for what you dont), theres still a need for companionship and compassion. (love could have broke your fall)

also, in the first two verse parts, he is first referring to the other person and then the 2nd part in the first verse he is referring to himself, is what it seems like to me.
