Forever Lyrics
I miss you so much,
Your light, your smile, your way
And everything about us
Through you're gone,
You're still here
In my heart, in my tears,
Yeah, you sure left your mark,
And we were just getting started.
It wasn't long enough
It wasn't long enough together
But it was long enough
Yeah, it was long enough
To last forever
Sometimes I get so mad
I scream, I swear at this,
'Cause this isn't how we planned it,
I sit here,
In a cold room,
Prayin', waitin' on you,
To run back through that door,
To the way it was before you left
It wasn't long enough
It wasn't long enough together
But it was long enough
Yeah, it was long enough
To last forever
I feel cheated and defeated
Can't believe that you're gone,
Oh, it was wrong,
It wasn't long enough,
It wasn't long enough,
It wasn't long enough,
No, it wasn't long enough,
It wasn't long enough together,
But it was long enough,
Yeah, it was long enough,
To last, to last, to last forever
No, it wasn't long enough,
It wasn't long enough,
Oh, Oh, Oh --
Your light, your smile, your way
And everything about us
Through you're gone,
You're still here
In my heart, in my tears,
Yeah, you sure left your mark,
And we were just getting started.
It wasn't long enough together
But it was long enough
Yeah, it was long enough
To last forever
I scream, I swear at this,
'Cause this isn't how we planned it,

Prayin', waitin' on you,
To run back through that door,
To the way it was before you left
It wasn't long enough together
But it was long enough
Yeah, it was long enough
To last forever

Oh, it was wrong,
It wasn't long enough,
It wasn't long enough,
It wasn't long enough,
No, it wasn't long enough,
It wasn't long enough together,
But it was long enough,
Yeah, it was long enough,
To last, to last, to last forever
No, it wasn't long enough,
It wasn't long enough,
Oh, Oh, Oh --

I cant quite tell if this is about someone dying or just leaving. could go both ways though
I think this song is beautiful.
I think it's about someone dying, not someone leaving. "It wasn't long enough," "this isn't how we planned it," etc. all seem to indicate death in my opinion.
Fantastic song =]
again, this definitely doesn't seem to indicate death to me. in my opinion it's talking about, again, lost love...just like most of the songs on 'Unstoppable'. i absolutely love the album though. the songs are all so good.
Me and my ex-girlfriend let each other go on sunday, most memorable relationship I've had ever. Reason being because it was causing too many problems in our lives, we want to be with each other, and we still love and care for each other highly. When she called me on sunday and told me what was going on, I knew what was coming next /: when we finally decided we can't do this anymore at least until some things get cleared up, this song clicked in my head and I broke down.
We swore to ourselves we wouldn't let the little things come between us and we'd be together for a long time, "cause this isn't how we planned it." And when it ended, it just seemed like it was way too short of a time being together,
"It wasn't long enough, It wasn't long enough together, But it was long enough, Yeah, it was long enough, To last forever."
It's only been four days, but it seems like forever since we've been together and I hate it. But I'm hoping she changes her mind and gives this a second chance...miss you babe :[
But I can also see how this can indicate a death scenario as well, either/or, this song is about losing someone very special that you felt really close to and loved every precious moment and memories with them and when they finally disappeared out of your life, it wasn't long enough and you wish you could take it back.
I feel for ya bro. It's one of the most defeated feelings a guy can feel when he truly cares about a girl. Just sucks how you control somethings and how fast feelings fade.

I thought it was about death as well until I heard the following lines: "Prayin', waitin' on you, To run back through that door, To the way it was before you left."
I think it is about a relationship gone bad.
This song could be looked as a break up song or a song about a death. I look at it as a song about death. My cousin Chris passed away last Friday and his funeral was on Wednesday. We never really had a relationship because we lived in different states. We talked on the phone a few times here and there throughout the years but nothing was ever consistant. Plus there's only so much you can accomplish over the phone. I really started trying to make a relationship with him a few months back when he was in jail. I wrote him and I even took a trip to Florida which is where he lived to visit him in jail, and then a little while after that lived in Florida for a month and visited him in jail while I was there. So we got to see each other then. But I ended up leaving Florida to come back home 2 days before he got released. He had only been out of jail for a little over a month when he died. So this song definitely represents how our relationship was and how it ended. I wasn't given enough time with him, but then again atleast I have some memories. It sucks that now Ill never get the chance to have a better relationship with him now. The part of the song where he says "It wasn't long enough It wasn't long enough together But it was long enough Yeah, it was long enough To last forever" definitely describes how im feeling right now. Atleast I have the memories we shared together and pictures. Between the two of them it will be enough to last forever, or until we meet again. R.I.P. Chris!! We all love you and miss you!!
I think it's about 2 people meeting and falling in love but one of then has to leave like back overseas to the army.
its about the military when the guy/girl is leaving for deployment Prayin', waitin' on you, To run back through that door, To the way it was before you left
It wasn't long enough It wasn't long enough together But it was long enough Yeah, it was long enough To last forever
she/he is waiting on their loved one to walk through the door
I just discovered this song the other day. I was listening to Rascal Flatts to find songs to cheer me up but instead, I found a song that relates to me so much..it's like my relationship. We were together for a year when we broke up, although for the next year and a half afterwards, we still saw each other like we were together. Just in the last two months it's really set in that we're not together anymore and I guess he's moved on. But I still can't stop thinking about him and loving him, I know I won't ever stop loving him - "it wasn't long enough, but it was long enough to last forever".
Like the song says "sometimes I get so mad, I scream and swear at this" and also says "I sit here in a cold room praying, waiting on you to run back through that door to the way it was before" - some days I'll feel so angry at him for moving on while I don't believe that I can and I'll want him to feel as bad as I do and then other days I feel I would give anything in the world just to have him back and other days I just don't get out of bed. As I listen to the song, I can picture the whole thing in my head as I interpret them.
