All Souls Day Lyrics
You said you wanted to be loved
I think you wanted to be saved
But tell me how am I supposed to save a girl like you
When i dont even know how to save myself
Maybe I'll drive all night
Wake up in the harsh day light
In a different town start a brand new life
And never have to see your face again
I wonder if this spell were under
Is ever gonna end
I wonder if this spell were under
Is ever
Ever going to end
I guess its never any closure
Since I last took it alright
You said you hope that im happy now
But we both know
Like everything that's one big fucking lie
I wish I could turn around
Erase our lives take back those vows
I guess it's not that easy now
I'll tear that fucking chapel to the ground
I wonder if this spell were under
Is ever gonna end
I wonder if this spell were under
Is ever going to end
Today i woke up
And these leaves had all weathered
Faded and fell to the ground
Like our tired hearts
I wonder if this spell were under
Is ever gonna end
I wonder if this spell were under
Is ever
I wonder if this spell were under
Is ever gonna end
I wonder if this spell were under
Is ever gonna end

I spent like a half hour trying to figure out the bridge and the second line of the second verse cause i had ideas but they didnt sound right. and theeeen I submitted it but you beat me to it man.
to be honest i really think the bridge sounds more like "today i woke up and these leaves had all weathered, faded, and fell to the ground like our tired hearts" makes a bit more sense too.
and as for the second line, second verse, i also thought it was something along the lines of "since the last look in our eyes". but after like 70 repeated listens I suddenly heard
"since i last took it alright"
yea i could be wrong. just thought id give my two cents.
It's definitely leaves, but I still hear "the last look in our eyes."
Seems to be about Kris' divorce with Denise.
Lovely song, mesmerizing. I have not carefully reviewed the lyrics but I think it is pretty clear that is is about the love/hate of a relationship.
I think the key here is that all the lyrics except for the chorus are basically saying how unhappy he is and how his brain wants to leave and start over again without her.

At first glance, the chorus seems to say the same thing, 'I want this to end'. But there is the incredibly strong undertone of what it does not directly say, which is that he loves her, irresistibly, perhaps illogically.

So without actually having any lyrics directly saying he loves her, the song expresses the conflict of love/hate, and in the end the chorus sort of wins...
