Fever Lyrics
I know it's not you're problem but it's true
I never have the time of day for you
You don't have fever
Don't have fever
You don't have fever
You've got you
You walk the streets alone
You're striking out for home
I don't want other loved ones
I want you
I don't want other loved ones
I want you
You don't have fever
You don't have fever
You don't have fever
You've got you
You walk the streets at night
You've been lookin for a fight
Sometimes what your afters not your fault
Cus happy ever afters what your taught
You don't have fever
You don't have fever
You don't have fever
You've got you
No one makes you calm
Though you've got people on your arm
I never have the time of day for you
Don't have fever
You don't have fever
You've got you
You're striking out for home
I don't want other loved ones
I want you
I don't want other loved ones
I want you
You don't have fever
You don't have fever
You've got you
You've been lookin for a fight
Sometimes what your afters not your fault
Cus happy ever afters what your taught
You don't have fever
You don't have fever
You've got you
Though you've got people on your arm

I think it's about a guy who wants this girl, but she is an independent person and wants something completely different. She can never be fully satisfied even if she has many admirerers.
I was really confused when I first heard this song because it's 'you don't have fever' and 'i never have the time of day for you' which caused me to think he doesn't like this girl. But then he says 'I don't want other loved ones, I want you' Is he saying she doesn't have the fever of wanting someone to love, showing she's independent? I don't know :/
I think it's about a guy who's been mistreating the girl he likes and it's an apology to her. Saying it's not her fault he doesn't do what he's supposed to, or that he doesn't deserve her. The "what your afters not your fault" could mean she's looking for somebody else but he doesn't want her to go and leave him, even though he understands she's got the right. The "happy ever afters what your taught" could be saying, she grew up looking for the perfect kind of love and that's not what he's giving her so she has the right to look elsewhere though he doesn't want her to.
