Assistant to The Regional Manager Lyrics
This light is one to hold your own weight.
This light is unto those who haven't looked.
Tied by the ghost into the current resolution.
Wrong again, but stronger now.
We can face this.
Fight life with life.
All glory to the one in existence.
Bring upon your name, your grace, your everything.
Hold hands and stare into the circle.
What are we looking at?
Rumors and rumors and rumors.
Rumors and rumors and rumors.
Wash out the lie to save depression.
Rumors and rumors and rumors.
Perished.
Guilt's inside me spit on the graves were infinite.
Take a look through the lens at the lies.
At the partitioning.
Wrong again, but stronger now.
We can face this.
Fight life with life.
Enemies will come for your throat.
This light is unto those who haven't looked.
Tied by the ghost into the current resolution.
We can face this.
Fight life with life.
Bring upon your name, your grace, your everything.
What are we looking at?
Rumors and rumors and rumors.
Wash out the lie to save depression.
Rumors and rumors and rumors.
Take a look through the lens at the lies.
At the partitioning.
We can face this.
Fight life with life.

it's always hard to tell what their songs mean....i'm guessin this one has to do with the bible...it talks about writings and such...could just be about how people are lost and looking all over for answers when the answer has been there all the time in the bible?..i do the name of song is definitely from "the office" didnt know they were also fans
My opinion of this song's lyrics are that the 1st to lines as many said refer to the bible. Especially that the bible "these writings" were written for sinners, mourners, etc. in order for them to find God. Like the "chorus" praising God is what sinners should be doing i think. also "fight life with life" might be fight the life of a sinner with the life of a Christian not in a physical way but in a way of a sinner taking on the morals and beliefs of a Christian. "What are we looking at? Rumors, Rumors, Rumors." Maybe thats the reaction of those who don't believe in God to the bible.
Anyway please let me know if you agree/disagree
Yeah TDWP are huge fans of the office. They used to come out on stage to the theme song of The Office before coming in with a brutal breakdown.
I agree though, this is a tough one to decipher.
these lyrics are so tight. heres the meaning i see:
"These writings are to those who have weeped. These writings are to those who haven't looked deeply enough into the correct resolution."
self-explanatory, for those who have felt sadness and who havnt seen what is actual or who havnt seen the correct, clear picture
"Wrong again but stronger now, we can face this. Fight life with life."
saying that we learn from our mistakes which makes us stronger, and that there is hope fight life with life like "fighting fire with fire" i love when people change sayings in a clever way like this
"All glory to the one in existence. Bring upon your name, your grace, your everything."
referring to god and how he is the only god; a christian belief... self-explanatory
"Hold hands and stare into the circle. What are we looking at?
Rumors and Rumors and Rumors. Rumors and Rumors and Rumors. Assembly: Disintegration. Rumors and Rumors and Rumors."
describing like the circle of trust between eachother and how when we stare into it we see rumors; mistrust, lies the definition of assembly is: a company of persons gathered for deliberation and legislation, worship in this case prob worship. they are saying that this group is splitting apart because of rumors or lies most likely referring to how we are being divided because of the difference of beliefs in the christain faith and church.
"perished" in connection with^^^
"Tombstones serve as mirrors and the graves are infinite. Take a look through the lens and through your eyes. End the partitioning."
saying that the tombstones is a direct metaphor of the outcome the division has brought: death or problems and it is still continuing:infinite
almost like when we look at ourselves in the mirror we see what is actually going wrong and we have an epiphany or sudden realization except we are staring at tombstones. they tell us to realize this and end it
chorus
Enemies We'll go for your throat
if two are enemies, they want to kill each other and this song is saying we shouldnt be we should realize that our differences are dividing us and we need to come together instead of splitting apart
Damn, you're good at this, haha.

It more-so ties the song together than any of the explainations, including my own.

I think we have the same principle and the "Fight life with life" lyric

Thanks @Shhhitsadeafkid for really portaying your perspective of the lyrics!
I'd like to say that I think "Tombstones serve as mirrors and the graves are infinite. Take a look through the lens and through your eyes" may mean that there are many out there who are spiritually dead or nonbelievers, and they look at the grave and see themselves, and there so many out there like that. And we need to see what those people see, we need to see their perspective on life, as well as our own so that we can have a better understanding of the reasons why they see themselves in that grave.
I see "end the partitioning" to perhaps mean that we need to not partition those views, to seperate them. kind of like segregating the non believers or dead in faith. And we need to bring them in and draw them close to us. To be there for those people. As a single line, personally I take "end the partitioning" to mean stop partioning God out of your life! Take him with you in everything you do, even though what you are doing may seem insignificant to include God in, Like brushing your teeth, or fixing you car, or writing on songmeanings.net (haha). End the partitioning and stop including him in some things and not others, because we need him in our whole life. Basically, Dont seperate God and all aspects of your life. If you have ever partitioned a harddrive, partioning like comnpletely serparates the hard drive into sections.
"Fight life with life" is my favorite! I'm really hoping to get this tattood on my chest I think. Anyway, to me it means that we need to fight this life of this world, the things that have to do with this world, with the life that God has given us. the true spirit filled life. Fight this life with the life given to you by the spirit. I love it. I think the first life could be "defined" really as "death" in bible terms. Like spiritual death, but the whole aspect of spiritual death in earthly indulgent life. So you fight that worldly life with awesome God given life.
That's my take on it. I'm especially confident about the "fight life with life" explanation, but really these dudes leave it open for us to decide what the songs means to each person individually. they just kind of give us a lyrical guide, if you will, and we can interpret for ourselves.
well you guys already covered the lyrics so I'll interpret the song title!!!
everyone knows Assistant to the Regional Manager is Dwight K. Schrute from the Office. The Regional Manager being Michael Scott.
But I think what they're getting at here is that the "Regional Manager" is God and the "Assistant to the Regional Manager" is Jesus, or whichever prophet you choose to believe in that God speaks or has spoken through. IMHO
Everytime I hear this song, I hate my life. To me, it seems that TDWP is singing about the uselessness of this world, how we all care for money, what the latest "stars" are wearing or how drunk they got, none of our thoughts or cares seem to fall on anything real or substancial, and if you point it out or try and make a change, you get shut down. Everywhere I go I see Christians who go to church once a week, smile and say "Hallelujah!" and live with their "fire insurance" Faith, not one caring for anyone else, everyone so ready to throw away their God and money on something pathetic instead of perhaps feeding the poor or striving to start something real. I have never met my definition of a REAL Christian, and it saddens me greatly
@JesusFreakMike Really sorry to hear that man. They are out there "real Christians" more than that though our hope is found in Jesus not the brokenness of the church. It's His body. He will redeem it

"These Writings are to those who have wept These Writings are to those who haven't yet Gazed deeply enough into the correct resolution
