this song is a complimentary to the movie waterborne which dredg composed the score for. it is the atmosphere surrounding the main characters. the song used to be called waterborne. if you have seen dredg in the past 2 years before this current tour you would know that.
I think this song is about a suicide bomber. He is like most normal people, and is a loving husband/boyfriend. People often don't think of suicide bombers in this way which makes it a very powerful song.

I feel like this song is about someone taking thier life for god....For some reason it reminds me of a suicide bomber who is wondering if it is the truth.
I don't know what the singer intended this song to mean but to me this song is about a guy who founds himself in a psudo relationship with a woman who apparently can't be in a relationship with him for some reason (maybe a recent breakup?) and this frustrates him. He tells her he can be the one to take away the pain from her but she still doesn't feel like it is right to be in a relationship with him. This only worsens as he isn't really sure what she feels for him and he wants her to tell him but she doesn't and this frustrates him.
Why am I saying all this? I found myself in exactly the same situation and believe me after every time I am with this woman, I always tell myself "It's the last time I'll do this." Just my 2 cents.

oh, as for meaning...my guess is a man in the role of soul mate/answer-to-all-her-problems and his love. he fixes everything for her, as in makes the bad go away, but now he needs to be helped. cancer possibly? i don't know why i got that feeling.

Whenever I listen to this song, I always think of it as a man who will be everything the other person needs him to be, and then when he feels that she doesn't need him anymore he takes his leave, every time telling himself he will never do this again.
