Catch The Light Lyrics
The days are dead and the den exposed
If I could be a cowboy I would've never come home
Sleep outside by a fire (that would burn) all night
Tonight I'm fighting anyone willing
Tonight I won't be a man letting love in
I can't get her back on my pointless lies now
I kissed her face and I slept in a bar
Sleep outside by a fire (that would burn) all night
Just doesn't feel the same anymore
We burnt down their house but we left their dough
Then fires smoked on the roofs, higher than morn
His guns won't shoot, his horse won't go on
Sleep outside by a fire...
If I could be a cowboy I would've never come home
Tonight I won't be a man letting love in
I can't get her back on my pointless lies now
I kissed her face and I slept in a bar
We burnt down their house but we left their dough
Then fires smoked on the roofs, higher than morn
His guns won't shoot, his horse won't go on
Sleep outside by a fire...

Melodically, this is an incredible song. Lyrically, I have no idea what he's talking about. If I had to guess, the song's protagonist got into a fight with his girl and got kicked out of the house. The "fire" refers to his anger at the situation (first two lines after the first chorus kind of hints to this).
