Nothing to do, turn on the tube,
With a TV guide right by your side.
You turn to the news, nothing is new
You're not really listening anyways.
You got a note in the mail,
It says that you failed,
To meet the requirements for a welfare check.
But it would mean so much less if someone would just
Take the time to come and check.
Inside every lonely life,
There's a question burning holes inside...
If I'm missing, would you miss me?
If I'm gone, would you move on?
Would you post up signs on street poles?
Would you search straight through 'till dawn?
and If the sun rose up would you search all through the day?
and Would you not give up and not lay down until I'm found?
You lay down on the bed, the sheets coloured red,
You never really liked that colour much.
If tonight when you closed, your eyes you died,
Would anybody notice?
